I wonder where they would put the south Baton Rouge stop.

The medical district between Essen and Bluebonnet... there is plenty of empty land between Picardy and the rail line.

By the time you drive to station and wait for train I cant imagine this is much faster than driving.

Would be nice for Saints or LSU games I guess but that doesnt justify this.

You pretty much described why MARTA in ATL doesnt do the greatest

Put me on record that this will NEVER happen. Not only will it be unfeasible and unsustainable, none of it will matter because this is never going to be built.

How do I bookmark this post so I can go back and look at it in 6 or 7 years?

I'm sure the artist conceptions for CATS stops were nice too... go look at the one by Cortana Walmart. It looks like a garbage dump.

Poor people will use the train... poor people will tear it up. It'll smell like piss in a week.

Looking at google maps, the only area that runs two parallel rail lines is between Dijon Dr and just ahead of Bluebonnet

There's a perfect location at Mancuso/Picardy to install a station

I like this idea. there’s a lot of folks who work in br, live in Nola and vice versa. Big events and holidays like Mardi Gras will benefit from this. It’s a huge win and is a step in the direction of connecting the two metros. You negative nancies will never be happy no matter what they do. They could make I-10 5 lanes each way from Nola to br and y’all would find somethin to bitch about

Maybe their offices are walking distances from the stops?

For people in Jefferson who work in the CBD near the train station, this could be a good commute option -if- adequate parking is provided at the Kenner and Jefferson stops and the schedule is frequent enough.

Also have to compare the trip costs for the train to gas plus parking contract.

Previous estimates have put the overall cost of the rail service, including improvements to bridges and crossings, at slightly more than $260 million.

guarantee this will end up over $1 billion

There is a reason why we don't have a loop in BR or any sort of infrastructure. People blame politicians, but in reality every would rather bet against every bit of advancement.

You are spot on. There could have been a loop years ago but people don’t want it. Keep blaming all of the crooked politicians. They want change but when change is actually coming they freeze up and say no

Exactly

Connecting the two metros helps both grow.

There was an surface street innerloop plan in BR that never made it because of bickering.

I was making the commute from River Ridge to LSU ever day for work. If they had this I would 100% still be working at LSU. Don't care if it wasn't faster than driving. As long as I didn't have to deal with LA drivers and could read, drink a beer, etc. on my way home from work, I would have been happy
