Austin Futch is a great dude.
We would be lucky to get him.

The council paid $35K for the search, bumped the pay for the position from $129K to $149K and still managed to frick it up.

Black council members (except maybe Tara Wicker) will never vote for Futch, even if his competition is ridiculously under qualified. Chauna and the gang have already accused the white council members of racism because they wouldn’t all vote for Martin. They can’t even conduct city business because they’re so busy playing the race card.

That's sad, man.
Futch is a 05 LATech grad, loves LA and knows what he's doing.
He's probably the least disagreeable person I know.
He'd be great.

I can tell you exactly what their problem is:
1. They set expectations sky high with their qualification requirements.
2. They set pay too low to attract many qualified candidates.
3. They took too long to make it through all of the bureaucracy for most candidates to suffer.
4. They actually never wanted to hire anyone because the city was using the money for the unfilled position to plug budget holes.

Baton Rouge and Louisiana are irrevocably broken. Shits just going to keep getting worse and worse as the years go by.
So glad I got the hell out of there.

Probably going to just hire the interm person on the cheap. Just like BR to frick something like this up. You hire experts to help make your decision and and BR like "na we are good, we will pick our own guy"

David Futch would of been a great leader for that Airport. Very much a class act.
BTR has become such garbage they just rather focus on racial politics than run a fricking city.

Mayor Broome and 3/4’s of the Metro Council are terrible. If we don’t split up the city parish government, Baton Rouge will never recover.
