I don't know how anyone is surprised by these results. I'd have given Carter maybe a 15% chance of winning.

Agreed. I think LaToya will easily get re-elected in Nola too but posters on TD think she's universally hated in the city.

The only hope was Wicker paying her taxes....blame the big money supporting her for not properly vetting her ..the information was easily attainable and the issue was easily fixable

It is weird how in the past few years people all of a sudden seem to care about politics more than usual and the constant bitching every time an election doesn't go their way.

If you care so much, then get involved. SWB didn't win because she is a good mayor, she won because the person who ran against her was not anyone who could get people out to vote for him.

People look at it as a race thing. SWB is a black woman democrat so people assume she will get all the "black votes". By default she will. Meaning, if a white republican candidate doesn't really do much to reach out to black voters then black folks are not going to vote for them,

There are a good bit of black people who don't really like SWB. A pro business energetic candidate who can reach people in general, no matter their race could easily beat SWB.

But most people would rather just watch and bitch about things.

As case in point, unofficial turnout for this election was 34.2%.

I’d like to say Baton Rouge learns the hard way, but the fact of the matter is, they never learn, no matter what.

The only way a Republican would win is if turnout was skewed significantly in their direction though. I think if we had 100% turnout Broome would have won.

I've always ignored your posts b/c there's plenty of posters who call you out, but I cant take it any more.

You post the most asinine content with zero substance on this whole site. Reading your posts is like reading an autistic rambler.

Do something different b/c you suck.

Historically, LA has always been a progressive, shining example of what America strives to be.
