Which virus got deadlier after racing around the globe in 1 calendar year?
Its very rare for a virus to do that, but it technically can and has happened

While I'm of course outraged, it's incredibly pleasing to watch this shitstorm spiral completely out of control for the Diocese.
Part of me hopes the Bishop doubles down and stands his ground. Obviously there's some historic evidence of the Catholic Church refusing to bend. It would be interesting to watch this be the downfall for catholic schools in BR as St George (not the church one) uses it as a springboard into their burgeoning hopeful school plans.
By the way, there's already a petition on change.org making the rounds. 218 signatures already and it's only about 3 hours old.

That is a total cop out and is going to fan the flames.

So they are just sending the same email to everyone. Do they think that will make parents be like ok sure. It will piss me off more if they don’t answer my questions.

You guys should just all put your kids in public schools at once, take over the schools and the school board and get them running right. What the voter breakdown in EBR politically?

I'm fairly sure they thought the reaction would be parents being like "oh ho hum. Masks again for our kids. Kind of a bummer but I better not say anything against the infallible Catholic machine.."
Looks like they got the opposite.

1. Not deadlier, but many viruses become more serious (virulent) over time to cause hosts to become sicker and shed more.
2. The level of misinformation and associated beliefs at least approach the level of informed understanding.

It's what happens when our leaders are disconnected from society and reality and the media lies to everyone.
Proof is in the pudding.

I just emailed the archdiocese…. Hopefully if enough people threaten to stop giving they will reverse their stupid decision.

Individual schools, the ones that actually deal with people and do workd, understand this will be an issue and dont want it
The diocease, who spend time simply eating at dinners, functions, and being aristocrats in the name of religion have their heads up their asses

But why? Its clear those unvaccinated are accepting of that risk. You are protecting them from something they are not asking for Once the vaccine became available with ease, you cant present a logical argument for keeping a single restriction
I understand and agree with this to a point. But the vaccine isn’t available for those under 12, so why should my <12 year old be beholden to choices someone else makes? In other words, I would choose to vaccinate my youngest child if I could. You may choose not to. So they both suffer the “consequence” of masking, regardless of the underlying reasons.
Again, the masks in general for the kids don’t make any sense. But not everyone has a choice to vaccinate.

11 people downvoted you and you were correct. CHS is not under the Diocese.

This would be the equivalent of saying kids who can run fast are not allowed to play at recess because they may run into another kid and cause a concussion or worse
I bet the percentage chance of those are the same

Response to my email:
Thank you for your communication.

Although other districts may not begin the year with some of the protocols we are initially adopting, the diocese is being proactive in establishing a policy for schools where individuals are indoors together for extended periods. Each Catholic school will adjust protocols to meet the needs of the students based on their school sites, and details will be disseminated in the next few weeks.
The Catholic Schools Office hopes that positive changes in the pandemic in our area and updated medical information will allow for reevaluation and relaxation of safety protocols during the school year, and it promises to remain flexible in considering updates as they are received.
