No easy route to take from St. Gabriel.

St. Jude would be your closest bet.

Not worried about the buses...we'll bring them to/from school.

Bro, we said the same thing. Then realized we save over an hour a day putting them on the bus. And I think riding the bus is good for kids. Carpool is a bitch at all the schools.

Why no Most Blessed Sacrament? It's a Blue Ribbon School.

Again, it's the location. I used to live out there, then moved to St Gabe. And to correct a few on here, St Gabriel is not AP, it's IP.

So I appreciate the responses on here. I guess since SAS and SGS is so big they obviously have more fans - and actually those are the 2 I'm more familiar with. It's St. Jude b/c of location, and the priest (we went to one mass there and liked it) that has them in the mix. Just don't know how close the community is there and how well parents faculty and staff all interact.

I've heard great things about St Jude. I live in the parish, I thought St George was a better option academically and that is where our girls are.

It's a big school, but close knit. I will tell you SGS wants you involved, so be ready either to give time or money to get the most out of it.

I imagine the small class size at St. Jude can work both ways. With only two classes, kids might get more attention, but I am sure the teacher/student ratio is close. But having 5 classes like St. George would theoretically allow them to split up the smarter and dumber kids...although I imagine they don't do it that way.

St. Jude is the same. I assume they are all the same. Free labor from the Men's Club helps the bottom line.

St. Jude bus passes in my neighborhood. My kids will go to St. Jude.

Actually I am pretty sure all of the schools you mention do this.

Yeah. I have no idea. It makes sense but I can imagine moms griping that their kid is in the dumb class.

We plan on sending our son to St Jude when he gets of age. We live in the parish. We're active in our parish and my grandparents and great grandparents were EXTREMELY active. A lot of folks there knew me as a child (even tho I didn't go to st Jude).

We're also looking at Sacred Heart. A lot of family members kids go there and we're could team up for a carpool.

ETA- I went to St. Gerard.

Ye ye!

The last I checked, Vietnamese kids only make up 15% of the students; which is probably the same everywhere in BR.

The last I checked I didn't check. It was a joke. I think the common thread is they are all good schools.

3 Vietnamese kids for every 20.

If you want, I could look at the roster in my inbox and give you the exact percentage.

Sounds like he's afraid of the curve busters for his kid.

Older neighborhoods typically are: Old white people, blacks and Vietnamese families with kids.

Most kids there commute from all around BR. Hell, my cousin sends his kids there from Livingston.
