Yep. You know it’s bad when this was released from Business Report. Although, as one poster mentioned, her constituents largely do not read BR Business Report, the movers/shakers in town do. Those are the ones who likely determine her fate.

Is BR Business Report the best source for local politics?

The mayor and DA's in both Baton Rouge and New Orleans are too important to leave up to the cities alone IMO. I would like to see an amendment added to make those offices subject to statewide or at least regional elections.
Edit: Also some of those "movers and shakers" like Engquist or Bernhard really need to start stepping up and throwing their weight around. BRPD is mismanaged. The public works department is mismanaged. The mayor's office is a joke.
This isn't a Democrat vs Republican thing - we need competence and leadership in the city and it's just not there. IF that doesn't change, we are going to see more missed opportunities and more stagnation while the suburbs continue to grow. Ultimately it puts the entire state at a disadvantage to have leadership failures in its largest cities.

Where was this reporter and his paper during the rest of the fiasco? Ruining the BRPD? Alton Sterling and fantastic overpayment to his family and connected lawyers? Absurd hiring practices?

Not so sure about that. Her disapproval rating is worse than Joe Biden's - well over 80%. So I guess it depends on who runs.
Oh I absolutely want to be wrong about my statement

What kinda shocks me is the fact she's been in government for awhile now and this happens. You'd think she would have known of a slicker way to get this done. Egregious is the only word I can think to summarize.

It's sad that it takes a story like this for any of the local media to actually criticize this incompetent administration. They've been ignoring the incompetence for years and only now are they trying to pretend that they're objective because there's a massive story that they can't pretend doesn't exist. And, to be honest, I think a large reason as to why Broome and crew would attempt such a bold plan is because they knew the media would help them do it.

Main thing she did is destroy the brpd.
It’s constant car break ins, gunshots, and street racing. That and it looks like the city just stopped working on things for ab extended period (drainage maintenance) trash etc.

When there is a D after their name, the media looks the other way until they can't possibly avoid the issue. It's been happening with the Biden administration too. They also give JBE a pass on things like the Ronald Greene debacle and the lockdowns/mandates.

So who's the next mayor gonna be? C. Denise Marcelle or Chauna Banks?
Who is going to run on the R side? Steve Carter and Matt Watson again?
Is Gravy going to rock the boat?
Is John Delgado coming back for more?

Serious question - if she's recalled, does the governor appoint the interim mayor until a special election is held?
I have no idea who that would be or if they'd be even remotely competent. That person would have to clean house at BRPD and in city government.

Gravy and Delgado would be Democrat challengers. So she'll try to appeal to the blacks to keep them from being popular. Unfortunately that means she has to be "anti-white" in a lot of ways because that's important for a big part of that voting block.
We need a competent Democrat (likely a black one) with a Baton Rouge address that can appeal to enough whites to be a formidable primary opponent to the field of idiots that will try to run when Broom gets indicted or recalled.

No one fitting this description in BR is giving up their lives to be berated daily by BR’s worthless media.

The "President Pro-Tempore" woukd serve as interim.

She’s black, we aren’t supposed to hold her to any standards.

Didn’t BRBR endorse this whore? Thanks for the hit piece now dicks.

Just a reminder that in large part BR Business Report’s ENDORSEMENT of Broome got her elected and reelected The money behind her has always been the the same businesses featured in this magazine. They took the Sterling route and opined Broome was a competent leader and would unite the city/parish. She has done the wax act opposite. The divide today between BR/SG; races; poor/wealth; public/charter schools ; crime/safety is greater today than it ever has been. Most of this is a direct result of her inability to lead and make sound decisions.
