Texas Club had the best physical altercations, especially after 2:00 in the parking lot.

I was about 18-19 in Winter 94 and saw the wildest shitshow of a brawl. Country boys grabbing hunting rifles out the trucks, bouncers pepper spraying scrums(rugby term!) of dudes on the ground fighting.

I was hooked. Went often for next 3 years.

Has anyone heard about the progress on the beer garden on Govt?

Last I heard they had put it off for a short bit as flood rebuilding jacked up the costs. Said they hoped it would be breaking ground "soon."

Yup, that was it. It was actually a techno open mic night when we went, and the DJ sucked so bad, the bartender made him quit and just put on reggae music instead

Club Culture used to do the weirdest shite. Some nights it would be bounce. Other nights roots reggae. Then EDM and Jungle shite. Then even sometimes they'd have dancehall/ragga with people legit doing sex acts. Saw several buttholes licked one night and then actual intercourse up against the DJ table. Crazy shite. I was way out of place.

Nobody has figured out that there are clean, no-line bathrooms in there. I love it.

Tell me about it. Why anyone waits in that sticky, bottlenecked hallway is beyond me.

Because there's always vulnerable hot pussy standing in line and you can break the awkward silence by saying, "wanna share this bathroom with me?"

Or something equally as stupid but effective.

We were also sharing specials and such.

Um. Thursday nights they have $5 Doubles of Absolut at Ivars. They bartender basically gives me neat shots for $2.50 a piece.

6 shots and one pint of bud light and I'm drunk as frick for........ $18.50.

That's less than half an hour of work for most of us. I'm lost.

How come in every thread you post in, you're a pretentious a-hole?

This sounded like the most ridiculous event. It was $40, didn't go to charity, didn't include any kind of transportation or anything, and only got you a "drink special" at each bar that you had to drive/uber to yourself (unless you only went to the downtown ones participating). I don't understand the point of paying. Why not just save your $40 and just buy drinks at the regular price of like $1 more?

The drink specials were indeed ridiculous. I didn't pay for them last year either. The atmosphere, however, is great. I live downtown and my favorite night all last year was the 90s crawl night.

He's just a miserable douchebag. In every thread he post in, he acts grandiose and superior than others. Dude must be one miserable prick to have to act better than everyone on the internet.

It's funny too bc I have a small bar in my house, but I am not miserable to where I need to brag online. Also, I am not stupid enough to think it provides the same experience as going out being a young, single professional looking to meet people

Driftwood is solid but they really need the young professionals to start living downtown to thrive

The kitchen has been opening in a month for as long as it has been open.
