Saw this yesterday the family said next to us and had a daughter in the show then the little boy about 8 was dancing his arse off in the aisle to all the dances and then the little girl about 5 came back to her seat and then the mom to the boy , I assumed to the restroom. Nope 10min later he was on the stage dancing nothing like the rest if the girls . I felt really awkward, but the dad seemed happy. I guess if your kid is an alphabet kid you must just know. Kid seemed happy as hell though, which is all that counts.

And one can perform in dance much longer than in athletics. Plus nobody can tackle you.

A couple have toured with Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Prince (when he was still alive), etc. Some of the others in the ballet discipline are with major metro dance corps.
