now the big question: did it rain or is that humidity that made everything wet?

I run through FQ a few times a year when in N.O.

In early mornings the street gets washed. Truck rolls through spraying cleaner.
In addition, most establishment hose/power wash every morning.

The street cleaners had just gone by. I guess they're cleaning it every morning, and one of the cumulative effects is that decades of stank are finally gone!

We were in Charleston SC last year. My wife commented it was like a little New Orleans without the smell of piss and beer. She'll have to rethink that now.

There is not a finer street in America to relieve oneself on.

it really is appealing in the pic. Kudos to the city and people who are cleaning it up. I guess thats a positive of the Rona- the FQ is improving its hygiene. Tragically at the cost of visitors and revenue.

It really is a great pic.
