I guess it's an Art of Shaving?
The trend has already died somewhat I believe. Certainly to the point that it won't sustain a large chain store for men's Shaving items. Their stuff is good but no better that Proraso, just pricier.

Now you need to buy a vintage Gillette fat boy and you will know utopia shaving.

if I use a rgzor with 4 or 5 blades the hair gets caught up in it easy and doesn't come out as easy.
Yep.

That's Mr. Impulsive Freak to you boy.
But really, what's the big deal? I liked the shave, it was very clean & close; bar none it is the best razor I've ever owned. So, why wouldn't I like it? Why does that fact trigger you?

They cream and the soap are essentially the same thing. One you just work harder to rehydrate and make it a cream.
I disagree. A shave soap is going to be 'thinner' even when fully foamed up. Its slicker though. Cream has got that thicker/heavier feel. I mix. I've got a cheap glycerin soap and some taylors cream. Get soap on one side the brush and cream on the other. I like the cream more, and the soap helps it get slicker.

IMO a Gillette Slim adjustable is just as good and half the price. Unless you find one and get lucky, Fatboys are overpriced. They even have rarities. If you find a Bottom dial Fatboy in the case, it may be worth a thousand dollars one ebay. shite is crazy.
Slims are everywhere and if you pay more than $30 for one, you could have looked harder.
FTR, I own 18 safety razors. I am done.

I've not found that with Cella. You just have to work a little harder. It looks thinner but the brush is still loaded. I can always tell when I am done and go to rinse the brush. Takes forever for it to stop making suds.

I agree slims shave just as good. Just sold one for $20. But every time I rotate back to the fatty I'm impressed with the heft of it.

Slick is still more important than having all this voluminous, yet somewhat unnecessary foam

Ted2010 do you have a Timeless Razors? I have a Merkur Futur and a 23C short handle. I have been looking at American made razors and think I might try a Timeless. I know of like the idea that you can purchase different blade gaps.

I just bought a 20 pack of single blade Bics...work like a champ.

I've been thinking about making the switch for a while, now. I finally made the plunge today. My new setup, which will arrive tomorrow:
Merkur MK23C long handle razor
Henry Cavendish Himalaya shaving soap
Ceramic mug with a ball handle
Miusco badger hair brush
Feather blades
