In 2024, Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) was among 17 AGs who contended there is no right to carry a gun at “political rallies and protests.”
oof.

Do you agree with his statement?

Did discovering that change your support of Keith Ellison to disapproval, or something?

The question should be "does he still agree with his statement"
Posted on 1/26/26 at 12:53 pm to Centinel
I don’t care what he thinks
The law didn’t change, correct?
I’m asking you and Pank if you agree with that sentiment

I disagree.
And before you try to further push a narrative, the situation in the OP was not a peaceful protest.

You try so hard.

You didn't ask me until now.
But to answer your question, no. That's fricking stupid, but Ellison is a piece of shite so no surprise he would make that claim. And of course turn around and backtrack after what happened to Pretti, because that's (d)ifferent. And I've never said Pretti didn't have a right to have his gun on him.
I just commented on the fact that according to Minnesota state law, he was illegally carrying because he didn't have his CC permit or a state ID on him. Which is a stupid law. I am an advocate of constitutional carry after all.
The only common sense gun control legislation I'm in favor of is the complete repeal of the 1934 NFA and all subsequent regulations.

I'm just showing the insignificance and lack of substance of the whataboutism, as I discussed earlier.
Being a person who has never supported Keith Ellison or valued what he has to say, I will say this has no impact on me. I imagine the only way this would mean something is if you or your audience was a big supporter of Keith Ellison, prior to that revelation.

Not in states like TX and Florida.
You’ve got be frikking kidding me. Those two states have more than TEN TIMES the number of illegal alliens as Minnesota.
Minnesota: 130,000
Florida: 1,600,000
Texas: 2,100,000
Facts obviously aren’t your strong point.

Why do you think that I said there are enough in TX and Florida to occupy DHS until the 2028 election?
You're making my argument for me and thinking you somehow corrected me.

Reading apparently isn't your strong suit.

You have to explain how using resources to deport more illegals is kicking the can down the road, but using the same amount of resources over the same amount of time to deport fewer illegals isn't. You end up in the same spot other than a drastic difference in deported illegals.
The “can” is not dealing with illegals. It is dealing with the people protecting them in cities like Minneapolis. What I’m saying is that there may be more value in dealing with that problem now than allowing it to fester for years while you pick off all the low hanging fruit. The high hanging fruit may be too big and too ripe / spoiled to pick by the time you get around to it.

Yeah, unfortunately it does not appear that ICE requested his permit or ID before they shot him in the back after disarming him.
