Boeing is planning to suspend production of its beleaguered 737 Max planes next month, people familiar with the matter said Monday, a drastic step after the Federal Aviation Administration said its review of the planes would likely continue into next year

I’m pretty sure even if they’re cleared no one will ride them.

everyone in my company that travels pretty much agreed that if a flight was booked on one, we would pot to drive to the client - it helps since we only fly domestic.
i for one wont get on one

...and you can thank the H1B visa program and outsourcing technology jobs to India based companies. HCL was the culprit. This has cost Boeing millions. When will companies realize that when they outsource IT jobs, it costs a lot more and doesn't save anyone time or money?

Notice where these crashes occurred. It wasn’t on South West flights.

No, you can thank the execs who made the decisions to farm out work H1B holders and cheap Indian companies. That's like blaming someone for getting their house broken in to because they left the door unlocked. Sure, leaving your door unlocked isn't smart, but the person who made the decision to break in is at fault.
There's a time and place to debate the H1B program, but this ain't it. Boeing did it to save money and get the aircraft to market quickly.

In future news: Boeing to begin production on "new" planes called the 737 Ultra.

If the stupid H1B visa program wasn’t there then Boeing wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of it.

Going to buy more boeing now.

Honest question, did they run out of places to park them? They have all these planes not being used.
This is going to be very interesting to watch.

Suspend and halt are pretty synonymous yo
Posted on 12/16/19 at 5:25 pm to GeauxxxTigers23
Planning and halt aren't.
Posted on 12/16/19 at 5:28 pm to EveryoneGetsATrophy
Look man I don’t know what to tell you. Boeing is going to halt or suspend or put on hold or whatever the hell kind of word you want to use the 737 MAX. I don’t know why you feel like playing semantics.

Yes that’s what I read because they already have 400 sitting in their storage they can’t deliver until they get clearance done.
quote:
Close to 400 Max planes were in global fleets when regulators grounded the planes in mid-March after two fatal crashes in a span of five months. Since then, Boeing has produced some 400 more of the jetliners, which are parked at its facilities in Washington state and elsewhere. The grounding, now in its 10th month, has prevented Boeing from delivering planes to customers, and the company said halting production would help it deliver the stored planes when the grounding is lifted.

Pussies
Flew on one several times before grounding. Dont care. Im 100x more likely to die driving to MSY than I am on the plane

Y'all know we have flown over 1800 hours on them with the new software installed right?
Y'all are some frickING pussies.

I'm guessing these were orders that were sold but haven't yet been delivered?
I'm guessing these 400 planes are also going to need the "re-work" done on them as well, in addition to all the ones in the carrier fleets.
It seems like Boeing just doesn't have a good grasp on the size of this issue. Which is amazing, at this point.

Nope. Incorrect information.

2)1800 hours is so insignificant as to not even be worth mentioning.
