Qualified immunity being stripped needs to happen.

I don't feel like watching that video. I watched the full video of the police executing Daniel Shaver in his hotel in 2016 and I still feel fricked up when I think about it. That was when the idiot officer made a drunk guy play simon says and filled him full of lead when he messed up.

Why did the guy shoot into his own house? Mental issue or drunk/ high? That was weird.

Not sure what this guy told dispatch but you should always be sure to describe yourself if you're going to be holding a gun when the cops show up.

Seems like the neighbor called the cops on the homeowner.

Also, did it sound/look like this dude was drunk/high? It kinda seemed that way to me.

Something seemed off with him and his actions.

A 911 call was made by a neighbor saying there was a man with a rifle in front of a house. Austin pussies

I mean he shot into his house twice. I’d have called the police too

ETA: it looked like 2 police cars? Neither with lights on? One showed up when he was inside and passed the house by, the second stopped right outside?

How long was his trip home? Jet lagged maybe? Had a couple cocktails on the flight?

I just rewatched it.

He turned back around and faced the cop right after he fired into the house and that's when the cop opened up.

I'd be very interested to see a toxicology report on this guy.

Brothers statement is good and direct. The cops rolled up without sirens and took a hidden position, which offers no opportunity for surrender.

quote:

The video clearly shows that Raj never threatened the officers, he didn’t even know they were there. I’d encourage everyone to watch the videos being released today to make their own judgments.

Thank goodness Raj had his Ring security camera on his porch because, without it, the police would have continued to lie about what happened that night.

“After watching the video, it is evident that the officer who shot Raj did this without identifying himself, without thinking, and before giving my brother a chance to explain who he was and why he was outside. Instead, he arrived without flashing lights or sirens, pulled out an assault rifle, took a hidden defensive position behind a fence 25 yards away, and killed my brother. He began firing before finishing his command to ‘drop your gun’ and continued to fire once Raj had dropped his gun and put his hands up and continued to fire once Raj had dropped his gun and put his hands up.

It’s clear from the security footage that Raj didn’t even know the police officer was there. His last words as he lay on the ground were ‘it wasn’t me.’

“Instead of getting justice for Raj, the Austin Police Department continues with its attempts to cover up what happened. The security footage they released today is an edited version that intentionally removes the interaction that Raj had with his neighbor one minute beforehand where he told her there was someone in his house and yelled into his home, ‘I’m calling the police, get out of my house.’

Don’t like cops editing shite, just screams questionable and cover up

No way am I shooting into my house with a rifle in a residential area and without hearing protection unless I have clear knowledge that I have no other choice.

He claimed there was someone in his house (and told that to a neighbor)

he could have been right and the guy ran out another door prior to the “warning shots” or left after the cops got there. not sure if that was every investigated or how long the cops waited to clear the house after

Some other info on top of that

quote:

“He called his friend and he said I think something’s been moved around my house. Something strange is going on.”

quote:

The dispatcher asked if the man appeared to be drunk or on drugs. The caller said he was too steady to be drunk but couldn’t say about drugs. The dispatcher asked if the man had mental issues, and the caller said: "Considering how paranoid he’s acting, he might be.”

quote:

The caller added, “He almost seems to be scared of something inside of his home. … It looks like he’s pointing the rifle at the interior of his home.”

The caller then alerts the dispatcher that the man fired the rifle.

He tells the dispatcher police have arrived and then says, “He fired again.”

Neighbors words relayed to the police could have them showing up expecting a derranged shooter.

I mean, doesn’t the dispatcher know it’s HIS HOME when the neighbor explains that?

Why would cops show up shooting first and asking questions later when they have that information?

I'm not even sure if there was even enough time to relay that info to the cops.

So the guy went into his house, noticed something fishy, grabbed his rifle, then went outside and fired into it?

That was a pretty solid range they fired those shots off from as well.

The 911 call and info given to police could maybe be different. Or they are told the homeowner is firing rounds into his own home after pointing the rifle down the street.
