FWIW she wasn't part of the Tate murders. She was convicted of murdering the Labiancas the next night.

Correct. Just as trivia, the girl that played her in the movie Helter Skelter was a Baton Rouge girl.

As long as she doesn't move in my neighborhood I'm cool with it.

I am glad she has rehabilitated. But there are some things so heinous that its about warehousing people until they die.

She does not deserve to walk free. Ever.

This was a horrific multiple murder. Not a mistake. Not a crime of passion. A calculated multiple murder. This is about punishment. Or it should be.

Why are taxpayers still paying to house this bitch and her wacko leader?

It was a cold, calculated and premeditated murder. There are times when "an eye for an eye" should be used. This is one of them.

Prison life has not been kind to her.

California took away death sentence after their trial. They will never be sentenced to death again. That would cost more in trials than paying for 20 life sentences. It would go through State and US Supreme Courts.

Manson is too crazy to ever get out, and he could easily start another cult upon release. They ALL need to die in jail. If I were family of any of the dead, or if I lived in or grew up in California at that time, I'd have a problem with it. The fear after that type crime caused in the middle of the peace and love? It had to have crippled that state.

She was stoned on LSD? Who cares? That crime took a while to plan. She wasn't stoned the whole time.

If she is rehabilitated, great. she can find meaning in prison with what is left of her life. Talk to prisoners whose lives are still worth saving.

Shame that this happened. That whole cult was nothing but evil. And somehow they attract people. Like the sick chick who married Manson last year (or whenever). Deranged.

I'll put it this way.

If she gets out and someone take donations for a contract on her, I'll donate $500.

Wait. Are you actually saying Charles Manson is innocent of any wrongdoing and should be released? You're joking, right?

She's been punished severely. There's nothing to be gained by keeping old harmless people locked up just for the principle of it.

This.

Still bad though.

But I think she should get out. She was brainwashed and has spent 46 years in prison and done a lot of good in that time. But I'm for lighter jail sentences across the board in this country.

There's this guy in Nashville that went to jail for a bit the same time as Manson and wrote a book about it. Trying to find it right now, but he said Manson was incredibly nice in jail and was super popular. He lived and breathed just to manipulate everyone around him into loving him. Really creepy shite.

I think most of his followers were just weak, stupid people he brainwashed. Still very guilty of their crimes, but I think 46 years and an impeccable life since then is reason enough to let an elderly harmless lady out of jail and off the tax payers dime.

Old Sarge - you know the book we both read, but not allowed to discuss in a public forum pushes forgiveness.

I had a change of heart a number of years back when speaking to a nun about the death penalty. She asked me are you against abortion and I said yes. She said well then how can you be for the death penalty? Thought for a minute and said well, the unborn baby did not kill anyone. The nun said, but in the end isn't abortion and the death penalty both about ending someone's life. Damn, she had me.....lol

No he hasn't. She hasn't had to suffer and beg for her last breathe and then watch a ruthless killer laugh in her face and watch her die. Who gives a shite how old she is. If she has anything good to provide the world let her provide it to inmates. If not then take the bitch outback and tie her to a tree and let mother nature kill her.

Can you really rehabilitate a crazy person. There are a lot people in prison they aren't going to execute. that's no reason to set anyone free.

No. He planned murders. I think it just sounds crazy that someone that didn't kill anyone is sentenced to die in prison. He is a nut job
