In reality, it's BMI 19 meth addict gamers being lumped into the "normal" category bringing their risk average up, and BMI 25 people who have at least been to the gym once or twice get lumped in with the BMI 29's who definitely need to drop a few, bringing this risk average down.
that would be true but there is also a much larger portion of that look like the 30%-35% range in the male photos above that consider themselves only slightly overweight, like the OP.
for non trained, average american, adults, you can estimate your BF& from the following formula
(1.39*BMI) + (0.16*age) -(10.34-gender)-9
gender- male=1, female=0
The damn average BF% for an american male is close around 35% btw, actually for males and females. disgusting.

These BMI calculators do not take into account muscle mass so they are completely unreliable if you work out a lot. The BMI says I am overweight but I'm the furthest thing from it. Wear slim fit everything and while I could probably stand to lose a few pounds, I ain't close to overweight.

If you don't think you're high risk, why do you want to be vaccinated?
How about the risk in that?

I weighed 180 in HS and according to the charts at the time, I was overweight.
I was scrawny.
I was scrawny.

All that alcohol make you fat or famished?

Of course the BMI is a joke, it's from the 1950's.
Medical world keeps it, so they can create more obese people from the charts and pump you with more drugs.
100% of all Obesity and Over weight clinics/meetings are ALL sponsored by the Drug companies.
MD=Legalized Drug dealers, pushing drugs on fat people, hard drugs on drug users, and drugs on children, who at age 6 like to play 2 much, so drug them up.

Unless you are built like Ray Lewis, then yes you technically are obese. And the BMI calculator is right in this case

So if I am in that 5% I'm not smart because I'm muscular and not fat?
5'6 and 175 lbs. 32" waist.

The CDC calculator says I'm obese
Obese people should be at the bottom of the priority list. We shouldn't be rewarding people who made a lifetime of terrible decisions. We need to let nature take its course.

I'm barely 55, and am 6 ft, 250. The CDC calculator says I'm obese
I turn 54 in a couple of months, I am 6' and 174 as of this AM and I damn sure would be fat as frick if you saddles me with another 76 pounds. I get tired and out of breathe just thinking about it.
I understand a lot of people are fat as frick and don't give a frick which is fine (outside of driving up my health insurance costs) but I don't understand how someone can look at the mirror @ 6' 250 (not being a professional athlete) and think naw I ain't obese...yet.

Some researchers contend that from a metabolic standpoint weight is weight, whether muscle or fat. I'm 5-9, 200 with my clothes on. 35 inch waist, 46 inch chest. If I gained 5 lbs I would also be obese by the BMI chart.
