Somebody else said it and I've thought this all along, it's not about who the person was that the statue represents. It's not about anything intelligent, other than it's a statue of a white man and we can't have that anymore. That's their agenda. Period, end of discussion.

Any faculty who participated in this crap should be fired. Thomas Jefferson founded that university and did so because of his belief that education was the greatest pursuit of mankind.
Those faculty members are a disgrace to the legacy that Jefferson built - scared of history, scared of ideas counter to their own and unable to cope with the concept that people who lived over 250 years ago did so in a different age with different values.
