Work with several Elementary teachers who couldn't pass the Praxis - until Covid allowed test taking from home. They all paid someone to take it for them (not sure how that occurred, but they were all suddenly Certified and bragged about paying for it) I passed all Praxis I needed the first time I took them and found them to be quite easy. Of course, these same teachers all have multiple Masters degrees they recieve online. In fact, one has 3 Masters and is almost done with her Doctorate, yet can't pass the content knowledge tests for Elementary. How can these teachers teach their students elementary Math when they can't pass it themselves?

It is a running joke in EBR that if you want a master's degree in education, just go to Southern. Education is one of those fields where the name of the institution on the degree is rarely considered.
Very easy to spot a Southern grad. Not all are bad, but most of the bad ones in the Baton Rouge area are from there. LSU Ed grads are hit and miss because LSU puts more focus on subject area than pedagogy. UL, SLU, and NSU put out the best teachers in the state. Texas does really well with recruiting teachers from Lafayette and Natchitoches.

CA and NY having a race to see who is more retarded. Imagine getting 2million dollars for not being good enough to pass a test. How can a standardized test be racist. Pure insanity.

Ah, I didn’t think about that aspect of it.

So if you’re a minority that failed it, you get paid. If you’re a white person that failed it, you’re a fricking idiot that failed and get nothing.

So should white people sue the NBA that they don’t have enough diversity and are in a vast minority?

So these people don’t know the last five presidents but live in our country and are citizens? What if they have to teach American History or Civics?

Guess I should sue and get paid what I would have made as a welder if I couldn’t psss the welding test that everyone takes to get certified.

Yes, but this wasn’t a citizenship test. It was a certification for teaching test that was likely used all over the country at the time. I have had to take several tests for certification, and every one of them was so easy it was laughable.

That’s a stupid comparison.

You can ask white people in college simple history questions and they won’t know the answer because our society is getting worse.

The black culture in America is partly because of slavery yes, but blacks have made hardly any effort as a community to emphasize education for their children.

Look in Chicago where the groups of black teens are running around breaking into museums at 2 am. What the frick are the parents doing to allow their children to be gone at that time of the night?

You can’t tell me they just didn’t know their children snuck out. They don’t give a frick and that’s why it continues to happen.

These people that took this test weren’t properly educated, but not because of racism but because their parents didn’t emphasize education. They had no idea what they were getting into.

Well, that example isn't exactly relevant to this situation, is it? Standardized tests that deal with proficiency in basic topics like math aren't discriminatory (except toward people who don't have a grasp of the subject matter). If they were biased in favor of Whites, why do Asians score higher on these type tests than Whites? Were the tests designed to favor Asians? Of course not. They were designed to favor competent people.

But this is a white Canadian should know this and you shouldn’t expect a black Canadian to know and asking is racist.

I find it hard to believe people are missing this glaring example of discrimination.

As long as we continue to prop them up, coddle them, lower standards for them, etc. we'll keep getting the same kind of people we have now.
