The vibrations and strange noises will make you forget your claustrophobic issues.

No, they are fairly roomy upfront.

If you're on an admin ride it's pretty cramped. If you're trying to unass the area in a hurry there's plenty of room.

Don’t be silly.

Make sure there are no bolts missing on the rotors.

Depends on how loaded it is. We flew with 11 soldiers with full equipment and it was like being in a fully packed elevator, the full equipment means you don't have any real room to move around. Without equipment, they put close to twice that many in a Blackhawk.

I am not gonna lie depending on loading it may not be a ton of fun for you but if the doors are off but going to be open try to get a door seat, it may help.

Just don’t sit in the back row, all he way to the right. It’s called the hurricane seat for a reason.

Right before we took off one time the pilot came over the intercom system and said "boys there are 14,000 parts on this helo and only 13,870 of them are critical to us staying in the air. I am sure it will be fine."

I have flown, rappelled, jumped and even (once) been lifted up by MEDEVAC extraction on a UH-60. You will enjoy the experience. And 40 miles will be over in a matter of minutes.
