Military friends, I have a question about Blackhawks. Are they cramped? Would someone with claustrophobia issues (me) struggle with flying in one? I do ok flying commercial airlines, but did stop an MRI (shoulder) last summer because I couldn't take the tube.

Thanks in advance!

First of all......what!!!???
Depends on the way they are set up. Whether its troop movement, medical chopper or supply.

Nope. I flew straight up the Potomac as a passenger in one from HAAF, GA to Emmittsburg, MD with a few stops along the way. There was only 6 of us in it though, including the pilots. Enjoy the view.

Never flown in a Blackhawk but spent plenty hours jammed in a Sikorsky heading to a rig with a bunch of real baws. Never bothered me.

Not really. Depends on configuration but even then, it’s not bad at all.

Thanks all. It's a 40 mile ROTC trip from airport to an army base and back. I think I can do this (I am civilian invited for the trip).

Love repelling out of them. If the doors are open, you will not feel cramped.

Unfortunately, if youre asking this then you have already panicked. All depends how many ppl the crew chief allows in.

You going for a joyride or you considering enlisting? If you're enlisting...there may come a time you won't have an option.
