This is why me and Dad wait and go to Biloxi in June.

Me and my buddies booked a trip to the Hard Rock Hotel this weekend.
We were unaware of this development when booking. Plans are to hang by the pool on Saturday and casino that night.
Would this spring break affect our enjoyment of the pool and casino? The rates for the hotel are very high.
Thanks in advance

I am certain that the words "black spring break" will strike terror in the hearts of many posters to these forums but fear not...unless young folks acting like young folks is scary to you you have nothing to fear. If young folks acting like young folks is scary for you that is a you issue, not a young folks acting like young folks issue.
I can remember when Freaknic would cause white folks in Atlanta to completely lose their minds. They were TERRIFIED that it was the end of civilization. You can't imagine the horror stories they would relay, information gathered from a friend of an uncle's next door neighbor's co-worker...never first hand accounts. If 1/100th of the things I have heard people swear happened during freaknic actually happened there would have been entire HBCU graduating classes missing. I was still a young man during the early years of freaknic....I went to see what all of the fear was about...it was not much different than the crowd at a Georgia Tech home football game except the folks were younger and mostly black. It was a fantastic event and those young folks enjoyed themselves and no old white people were killed in the process...but ask some of those old white people then and now and you'd think the corpses of old white folks were lining Peachtree Street. I would hazard that the good folks of Biloxi will be just fine....

Went to Beau Rivage to see Tom Segura do stand-up last year. We did not know it was Black Beach Week, but found out the last couple miles driving to the casino. Outstanding people watching.
My wife and I found a deal on a nice resort (what passes for a nice resort) in Myrtle Beach about 10 years ago on Memorial Day Weekend. When we were about 25 miles from Myrtle Beach we started seeing HUNDREDS of black folks on motorcycles...it was Black Biker Weekend. We had no idea. When we arrived at the hotel the desk clerk, not from south carolina but probably from New York or Pennsylvania, older white lady, asked if we were certain we wanted to stay in Myrtle Beach that weekend. She was TERRIFIED. Convinced that no one would live to tell the tell. Loads of old white folks running about Myrtle Beach that weekend in wide eyed terror LOL. As far as I know that may have been the calmest weekend I have ever witnessed in Dirty Myrtle...the black folks on bikes had a big time and nary an old white person was harmed in the process. My son, 13 at the time, went walking around people watching Friday and Saturday night and we saw some interesting shite but nothing more than you'd see on the redneck rivierra on a Tuesday in June....

Weren’t the majority of arrests that occurred over the years people in their late 20’s and not college aged young folks?

I wish Freaknik would come back.
It was fun. No where near as frightening as folks pretended and make out like today...not a lot of difference than a Georgia Tech home game except the crowd was younger and of course mostly black.

I went to a Hawks game in April 94 because the Magic were in town and I wanted to see Shaq, it was on a Saturday afternoon and my dad thought Freaknik had ended the previous weekend. 9 year old me didn't get frightened but I sure some some interesting sights leaving town.

Black bikers like you are describing are cools as shite. If it had been a gathering of the city “bikers” on their crotch rockets, it would have been a different outcome for your enjoyment of that vacation.
And yes sometimes the pearl clutchers get ridiculously fired up about some things.
The young crowd who attends these black spring break things in the south are idiots in general. It’s been bad a few times In Biloxi in the recent past
