Take the advice of your vet and make her as comfortable as you can. Do whatever you have to do to keep her interested in eating whatever she wants to eat.
If the time comes and she can't live in dignity and without excruciating pain, you'll know.
It's extremely difficult and I empathize with the situation. So sorry..

Sorry about that. My dog had a tumor on her heart. Had to put her down over a Thanksgiving weekend.
It's tough to see a family member like that.
Spoil her while you can.

Sopraneaux, feed her well and put her down. Don't make her suffer.

I had to put mine down a month ago I had her for 14 years your dog will let you know when it’s time. Sorry to hear about her illness

sorry to hear that
take lots of photos
maybe take a ride out in the country, somewhere she's never been before so she can "get in some new smells" (and take pics)
when the end is near, make her comfortable and give her some nice treats, especially cheese - bitches love cheese (sorry, couldn't resist)
when it's over remember all the good times you've spent together

I've had two dogs die of cancer. My biggest suggestion, do it a week too early, not a week too late.

That's one thing that's so heartbreaking about the situation.. Your dog will never give up on you. They will fight with all their will to be there for you.

I put mine down on September 15th. She couldn't get up to use the bathroom and she wasn't eating or drinking. She was in renal failure but she wouldn't give up. My vet and I made the decision to put her down and I held her as she went. It was brutal but as a pet owner you have to have the emotional sophistication to know it's best. The breeder thanked me for letting her go peacefully and gently in my arms, without allowing her to suffer any more.
Fortunately her bloodline is still producing and I'll get one of her descendant pups in a few months, so that's encouraging.

Tough choices. Friend had a yellow lab with cancer. Too old for treatment. Gave her whatever drugs the vet recommended and she did fine for many months. Very happy. One day, she knew it was time and she said goodbye. The drugs may not be as bad as you think. You may want to give them a try and then, make a decision.

Had a 13 year old mixed breed that started with that bad cough and was diagnosed with the same. Vet offered to start treatment but I declined bc I didn’t want to put her thru the side effects at her age bc that would have likely caused her death. I suggested prednisone and aminophylline to help her breathe better and not effect her quality of life.
It improved her symptoms for about 6 weeks and she continued to eat and play with my other dog but at about 6 weeks she was struggling horribly to breathe and i knew it was time.
Good luck and just love her as much as you possibly can. Any compounding pharmacy can compound the aminophylline and prednisone is extremely cheap at any pharmacy if you and your vet agree on that.

Absolutely don’t “skip the meds” not a damn reason on earth to not give pain medications.

Give the dog some bong hits and then tommorow a fried turkey leg

Sorry to hear. As long as she continues to eat and play then that is great news.

Sucks man. Just treat her like a queen, feed her any junk she wants. Love the time you have left. You'll know when she needs the long sheep.

Ugh. Our lab had cancer, not lung, but spleen and liver. We had surgery, but we still lost her 2 months later. Actually it was 8 years ago yesterday. Yeah, I still remember the date.
Very sad. Best of luck. Not sure what your options are with lung cancer. Love your dog.

I really would but I work in Law Enforcement and I'm pretty sure I can't get a medical marijuana prescription for my dog.
Marinol is THC in pill format. Might be OK if you do that.

You didnt say metastatic or primary lung tumor. What did you mean by "conventional treatment"?
Couple of good, safe cough suppressants on the market like hycodan and cerenia.
piroxicam may actually do something if a carcinoma but beware its effects on the kidneys

That fricking sucks. I lost my dog to cancer in June. He was twelve and seemed in perfect health until he developed a slight limp. Vets thought it was just arthritis so we got him on some meds for that, within a month cancer had spread to his organs and he was gone. Still miss him

Sorry to hear that man.
My dog was just diagnosed with cancer, too -- last week. 6 years old. I'm waiting to see what the biopsy returns so I'll know what the next step is.
As someone going through it at the same time, just love on her and the moment she shows pain, make the decision to say goodbye.
I'm struggling with it myself. Breaks my heart, but my head knows it's the right thing to do.
Sending good thoughts your way.
