Need some help. I see a lot sales on 4K TV's now and I'm interested in buying a 65" 4K TV. I've done some research on 3 brands (Samsung, LG, and Sony) Reviews are pretty much the same. They're giving 4 stars out of 5 even on the high end sets. When you pull up the 1 star reviews, it all has the same problems. Some reviews calling them junk. I feel we're getting junk from overseas now and the quality is going downhill. Need some advice. Thanks

TCL for sub $600 is a pretty awesome deal

I went with the TCL 55" for $330 earlier.

I bought a 65" Hisence a few months ago when my Samsung picked up a red line.

The only complaint I have about it is the wall mount. It's a very poor design, so I took off the back panel and made a better one to hang it with.

Not a project I'd recommend to anyone who isn't savvy with electronics.

Sony X900E appears to be the best 4k tv this year that will be on sale. I couldn't decide on a 65" 4k or add $200 for the LG C7 OLED, but it was a 55". In the end I picked the Sony and got it online from ABT for $1498, same as Best Buy Black Friday but no shipping or tax. If you happen to use Ebates they were also offering 4% cash back on ABT.

Rtings.com will be your best site for reviews on specific models.

Sony 900 or Vizio P Series Best bang for your buck on 65"

I went with a 65" P Series because vizio was able to discount me one for $1000 because me previous vizio of 3.5 years died . I swore I'd never get another vizio but couldn't beat a $1600 tv for $1k .. they got me .

I’m debating getting one now. I don’t know if it’s just some Best Buy tactics but they QLED and OLED look a lot better than the regular 4K’s they have in the store. They claim it’s much higher quality parts. Anyone know anything about this? Am I getting hoodwinked?

QLED and OLED in general provide better picture quality but are very different techs. QLED is a "more advanced" version of standard LED tech, OLED is not back lit and each pixel can be turned off and on.

Most will simply say OLED is better and for many people it is true, but OLED and QLED each have their strengths and weaknesses and the best choice can vary with the person and situation they are used.

I see lots of people who go buy the "best" TV but is is not optimal for their room/watching habits. They also are usually the ones that don't calibrate their TVs just using the out of the box settings and usually are providing the set sub-optimal signals. Point being many people overspend for their needs and the way they will use the display.

Big box stores are also the worst environment to compare sets (unless you plan to use them outside or in an extremely high ambient light area).

That makes a lot of sense. I think they are all just trying to sell me a lot that I don’t need.

Appreciate the help. Thank you

I also got a 55" TCL for the living room. Not just for 4K but because it's a Roku TV.

TCL is killing everyone with their 600 dollar 4K. Saw it in action and it's unreal for the price.
