On a different note, this is one of those times when advertising really shouldn't appear.
I don't want to watch a cheesey upbeat 30 second clip from Fox for a John Stamos show right before I watch 100 people die in a major tragedy.

You think the stampeding is the issue here? Are you shitting me? It's clearly the ritual stoning exercises that regularly take place there that is the problem. Could you imagine if the Vatican even imprisoned someone for being gay? The international shitstorm would never be end. Well Mecca stones them almost every fricking day. The "ritual stoning" that takes place during the Hajj is a reinactment of one of the prophets stoning the devil. I'm not Muslim, so I don't know all of the particulars, but the story goes something like this...
The devil appeared before Abraham on a large pile of pebbles or stones. Abraham threw seven stones and drove the devil away. Devil appeared twice more on other piles, Abraham threw more stones.
At one time there were three pillars that the pilgrims had to hit with their stones, which caused a lot of congestion and over crowding in a small area. They've since put up three walls to help spread the pilgrims out.
It also has to happen on a particular day, or possibly even time of day, so every pilgrim is in one spot at that particular time. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions, travel to Mecca for the Hajj. Imagine every person at Mardi Gras trying to crowd into Lee Circle on a particular day and time. People would get crushed.

All I have to say is karma is a bitch. Sorry that happened but I know the Saudis had a lot to do with 9/11 and this is God's way of returning the favor to them by mother nature and out of all days it was on 9/11.
