In his editorial New Rule, Bill calls on Americans to take control of their health and address the growing obesity epidemic.

On body acceptance movement: “When did it become taboo in this country to talk about getting healthy? Weight Watchers had to literally take the words Weight and Watchers — I’m not kidding — out of their name. It’s now WW. Because merely the idea of watching your weight is now bullying. What’s next? Banning scales?”
On the modern American appetite: “We look at fried chicken and think: that’s a good start. Now put it on a bun. And add bacon. And cheese. And something no one’s even thought to put on it. Make my mouth [orgasm]. What’s Elizabeth Warren’s plan for that?”
On the stakes: “Being fat isn’t a birth defect. Nobody comes out of the womb needing to buy two seats on the airplane. Here it is in a nutshell from the New York Times: Poor Diet is the Leading Cause of Mortality in the United States. Everyone knows that obesity is linked to terrible conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and virginity.”

Sheesh, this dude went scorched earth on fatties. Respect.

This and gay shaming would fix a lot of issues.

Meh. That is an easy position to take against the victim society. Let’s see him callout the trans bullshite a mental illness like it is instead

He isnt wrong.
Too many people want to use the victim card instead of addressed the problem head on

Trans people aren’t clogging up hospitals and doctors’ offices

True. Illegal aliens are.

But I bet there are morbid obese people who use food as a coping mechanism to cover their sexuality or gender/sex

We'll never fix healthcare until we start taking care of ourselves.

This. It’s a lack of responsibility combined with the convenience of fast food and processed frozen foods. And lack of exercise/manual labor.
And restaurants aren’t good for you, even most of the nicer ones. Because now they all get food supplies from US Foods or Sysco and most are pumped full of crap to increase shelf life.
You can go to the store and buy fresh ingredients and prepare a burger or a homemade pizza, or even pan fried chicken and it won’t be half as unhealthy as the same style of food you’d get at a restaurant

I respect Bill Maher. I typically don’t agree with his political views, but he tells it like it is.
