the only thing funny about this is your neighborhood has garden homes

One street down in the back side of the sub-division. It's quite popular for the elderly parents of homeowners in our sub-division. It allows them to be close in car they need help while maintaining their independence.

Maybe when you grow up and move out of your parents' house you'll be able to afford to live in a nice sub-division like me.... Maybe.

A guy in college found a HA "CUT" at a thrift store or online and wore it out to a bar after some party - almost ended real bad

1. Don't call them a "biker gang". That's a huge insult.
2. Don't call them brother.
3. If they're talking, don't interrupt them.
4. Do not touch their cut (what you call their jacket)
6. Don't ask things like how many members they have or things of that nature.

So what's rule number 5? Is it so secret you can't tell?

And for the record, the correct term is "motorcycle club" or "MC", not "biker gang".

Biker figs is the correct term. The absolutely lowest rung on the social ladder.

A lot of things can slide. But wearing a cut of a club you're not s member of, that's not one of them.

Biker gangs seem like a much trashier, less cool version of La Cosa Nostra.

La Cosa Nostra is a myth. We're olive oil importers.

7. Refer to them individually as "dude."
8. Touch all the shiny parts of their motorcycles.
9. If their conversation is disturbing to you, tell them to "keep it the frick down."
10. Be sure to ask how much meth they deal each week.

Solid advice. Especially #8, 9, & 10.

My ex-father in law was a Pagan. He hated to be called "Dude."

I also trolled him by sending him emails from "Toshi Yamamoto" extolling the virtues of Japanese motorcycles.

That's a big misconception about the MC world. MCs are very structured and orderly in how they function internally as well as with other clubs.

Like I said earlier, these rules were put in place long before my time with the goal being to keep the peace between clubs.

No doubt, I watched Sons of Anarchy from start to finish. Some of these civi's don't get it but I do.

While that was a very entertaining show and me and my wife enjoyed it. At the same time it has created huge problems. For starters the show spawned a wave of guys going out buying their first motorcycle and forming their own clubs. For a while there clubs were popping up right and left. At every COC meeting there would be at least five or six new clubs coming before the board asking for consideration for membership. These new pop-up clubs caused a lot of problems because there were full of guys wanting to live out some real-life SoA fantasy while knowing nothing about real MC life. A prime example of this is a club called the Iron Order. They've been nothing but trouble.
