i usually give the nod to ticks for general creepiness and showing up in strange places on your body already dug in and transmitting horrific diseases.

but this summer there is a single a-hole horsefly who shows up every day at the pool and flies around at mach2 so you can't take a swing at the fricker and he takes chunks of meat out of my back.

edge - horsefly. look at that smug look on his face

At least horseflies are honest about it. They’re obvious, they’re annoying, they’re loud, it is what it is.

Ticks are evil sneaky bastards. So therefore they’re bigger a-holes.

Ninja-like guerrilla fighters are worse than the air force. Ticks are worse than flies because flies fight out in the open and it is fair.

Horseflies because I have to deal with them daily and they are TERRIBLE this year.

I’m going to get bucked off soon because of them.

A Deerfly will harass animals and humans worse than a horsefly. I call them kamikaze flies.

I've dealt with horseflies, never had a tick on me.

So, Horseflies by default.

Given a tick can give you Lyme disease I'd say ticks. But as far as immediate annoyance those little yellow deer/dog flies take the prize. Horseflies are slow and loud and easily destroyed.
