I’m guessing somebody didn’t do a JSA

Based on what I’ve heard of this place I don’t think JSA’s are even in the vocabulary. They seemed very lackadaisical from an environmental perspective, especially given the work they do.

Shite is still burning, but the smoke is now parallel to the ground with stronger winds.

What a nightmare. Feel bad for all the young families that live near that site.

Do we have a full list of what occurred? How it started? Who was involved? What type of product it was that triggered the incident to occur? By now, aside from sharing pictures and gossiping some actual facts about the incident should have came out by now…

The place was still having small explosions overnight so no, it’s not surprising all the facts on what happened are not known at this point

How do you even get oil off of shingles? Just power wash it all down to the ground then deal with it from there?

Never pressure wash a shingle roof. Softwash company owners are going to retire after this.

Is it actually oil or just soot from the burning oil mixed with rain or dew? Trying to figure out how actual oil would float through the air from a fire?

I am thinking more like when they burn sugar cane but much more dense and probably not very healthy either.

As I mentioned in my post on page 2, I used to work there. I spoke to someone yesterday who was still working there and he told me where it started.

I posted this pic earlier as well showing that.

Heating the oil to it boiling point and then letting it go into the air.

Also Incomplete combustion from an oil fire means that black smoke is oil.

I’m 8-10 miles NE as the crow flies, and no effects here…yet.

A few years ago there was a chemical leak at the Bogalusa paper mill people north of the mill around Angie and Varnado were claiming exposure despite the fact there were north winds blowing that day.

A WWL TV reporter interviewed some people at a Covington hospital and asked why they were there and what were their symptoms and they responded they didn't know , their lawyer had sent them there .
