Do you know where the gangs in Chicago get most of their guns? Indiana. Do you know what gun laws exist in Indiana? Very, very few. Straw runners can buy in bulk in IN, run them right across into Chicago, and sell on the streets. The only defense Chicago has to guns in the city is not allowing them to be purchased in the city. They can't do a damn thing about them coming from other places other than coming across them during traffic stops or catching people out in public with them.
Federal gun control DOES focus on intercity violence.

I actually don’t know if this is correct at all. This is quite literally the hill to die on for most gun owners I know.
I'll admit that it's probably irrational but if the government decides to arbitrarily make me a criminal I'll be tempted to just embrace it.

It's illegal.
And they still do it.
A thinking fellow might consider this when rambling on about prohibition.

Then why are you supporting gun control?
Why did you support the Russian collusion bullshite?

We're talking about Executive orders or legal loopholes from Congress used to circumvent the constitution. Try to stay on topic.

Who gives a frick the GOP still supported it
Article, Section, and Paragraph and/or Amendment that it violates or seeks to subvert.

Oh here it seems like the GOP still supports no knock warrants
Seems like they're walking back legislation, not trying to expand it?
Try again.

We obviously have a gun violence problem in this country, but it isn't the fault of the guns. Maybe we need to focus on the people committing the crimes, rather than the guns that they are using. We need to get criminals off of the streets, not guns

Yet here you are supporting restrictions on a Constitutional Amendment, without bothering to even go through the Amendment process.

That's my point. Every single "common sense regulation" has done nothing but further restrict rights. There is no compromise. There is only chipping away at the 2nd.
Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together knows that there are NO gun laws that will even slow down gun violence in the US. There are millions of weapons in circulation. They want confiscation. If they enact laws that they know won’t work, then they can say “see, we tried all that, we gotta just take them all”.

Yep. It's like the government forgot how government is supposed to work.
This is how government is supposed to work. People forgot how we don't need the fricks.

I happen to think that keeping weapons away, even temporarily, from those who are found to be very mentally disturbed, are in a psychotic episode, or regularly make violent threats, should not have a gun in their homes.
Who gets to decide this?
We have this thing called due process in this country, and it's especially applicable when you are trying to take away a fundamental right.

Safety is more important than stupid outdated notions like due process and rights.
Stop focusing on your rights and focus on doing the right thing.

You're seriously asking what does the Patriot Act violate? It's called the 4th amendment

It's called lip service say something while doing nothing

No you just got mad because I offered examples so you flipped the table and bitched
Also Bush declared war without congressional approval

But they're not trying to expand it. Unlike Biden and the Democrats when it comes to gun control.

You didn't offer examples though. The topic of this thread is Congressional and Executive orders/laws. Again, try to stay on topic.

What Article, Section, and Paragraph or Amendment did this nullify in terms of rights of citizens of this country?
Of course you conveniently ignore Vietnam and LBJ.

Yes or no.

Glad I bought plenty Guns and Ammo already. I mean uh, the magazine. Uh huh.

But they voted for it and continue to vote to extend it. You keep trying so hard to deflect

I did and you kept deflecting

I was more on recent history but again you ask for examples, I give you one and you deflect. Also although it didn't directly impact the rights lying to the people and pushing through an illegal war based on lies isn't very American and not super constitutional
