It's definitely not a social bike in any way.

Social time is before the ride and over beers after the ride is my philosophy.

depends on whether you doing efforts or its a recovery day.

club rides on the weekend are a perfect mix of efforts and chat.

What is everyone using for a computer? I lost my Garmin 510 somewhere during my move so I'm obviously getting a new one. Not sure if the upgrade to the 810 is worth it though.

I bought a Garmin Fenix 3 so I could use it for more than just riding.

I was concerned about losing my GPS signal while mtb riding but it hasn't been an issue.

Is that new talon a 650b or 29er still?

Mine is a 650. Not sure if they have a 29er in that model.

Mines a 2012 and a 29er. I think they switched in 2014.

GHP

Brings back memories. I had a Patterson and my best friend had a Greg Hill (GHP), we would argue over who had the better bike

That was over 30 years ago, where has time gone ?

not picture...GT TT Bike, GT Team Avalance Mountainbike.....all old GT bikes before they were bought by the man. I rode for a bike shop in southern cali back in the early 90s that gave us GT stuff for about 20% of retail. I stocked up.

Here is my latest reno....'63 schwinn hornet. I finally paid Old Guy to rebuild the BB and clean it up.

Yeah with Strava on my phone the only reason I would use it is for the HRM stats right in front of my face.

Only thing I'd really like a computer for is my cadence. I can get everything else off of a cell phone app. A power meter would be nice, but I'm not spending that kind of money to put a power meter on a $1,100 bike.
