Our Dsld house came with frigidaire products, they suck. Already replaced the fridge at year 7, replaced the microwave at year 6, and dishwasher has been repaired twice.
These mass builders just put in whatever cheap shite they can find that looks good enough to sell.

My Bosch blew up last year after 21 years. Went with the Kitchenaid and have been very satisfied. Cleans really well. Would've gotten a Bosch but its hard to find a repairman for them in my town.

We had Frigidaire that came with the house (they were a little older) but they were all shite. We’ve replaced everything but the stove in the first two years because they just were shitty appliances.
We’ve been really satisfied with our Bosch dishwasher (had for about two years). Our whirlpool fridge is ok, but they just don’t make appliances like they used to.
Ordered a GE chest freezer for the garage and it wouldn’t get down to temp (some issue with the coolant system). GE is replacing it with one 30 cubic feet bigger because our model wouldn’t be available until June. Hoping it at least works when delivered.

When I moved into my house the previous owners left the whirlpool fridge that is at least 20 years old and the Kenmore 200 series washer and dryer. Both are still chugging along with no issues.

We did keep our GE washer and dryer that’s about 10 years old. Even though they’ve had a couple things we needed to fix. They’re still non-electronic panels so we’re riding those out.

If you don’t like repairmen, Thermador or Bosch is the way to go.

You are warning other potential consumers of the appliances with the brand name Frigidaire. You claim the newer ones are not superior to other brand names such as whirlpool and etc. you will be purchasing a different brand of appliance in the future

You could actually get appliances repaired?! I thought that most modern junk programmed to self-destruct couldn’t be fixed economically and had to be replaced with a new piece of junk.

We bought a simple dial speed queen and damn cheapest Maytag simple dryer we could find. 3 years to replace an LG still under warranty they couldn’t fix and another 1200 dollar pos. They new simple ones are both awesome. Even my wife is over this shite now. We are buying analog dial shite are we aren’t alone, everyone in our upscale neighborhood is over having to replace shite every 3 years, even all the doctors wives etc are buying speed queens, and Commercial shite now, just for the hassle. Of course, this has made them harder to get and more expensive now.
People are starting to wise up on these 1000 dollar and up pos that don’t last 3 years, with 500 features no one ever uses. The 5000 ovens are the worst pos ever made btw

Will be buying whirlpool or another brand when ready to replace them.
You need to check if Whirlpool manufactured your Frigidaire problem child. Whirlpool makes a lot of things for other brands.

Something to think about --
Smart appliances are a threat to American national security.

Some will say, what can the CCP learn about me from my microwave or refrigerator? To ask such a question misses the bigger picture. These devices can connect to other devices, including your cell phone, your child’s cell phone, your laptop, etc., which means that bad actors can also access these devices.?The CCP doesn’t care about what you’re having for dinner, but it does care about your conversations, your browsing history, and the passwords stored on your devices.

If you buy Whirlpool, only get the Gold models. Night and day difference over the reqular ones for 10-25% more. The swoosh in the logo will be gold.

I buy my stuff from a local mom and pop place and don’t have issues. It’s GE, but I’m not sure the brand matters. I could never prove it but I think there’s a difference between what big box stores get and what small local vendors get.

I know exactly what fridge that is. Very common to have
-Led control failure (you can get the control led for $30 on eBay, my price is $105 at the distributor)
-Bin control board failure (secondary control board gets wet)
- ice maker freezes over or breaks
-fan seizes.

Samsung is now saying that the issue is air (moisture in air) getting in where the coolant lines enter in the back. We've gotten good results by adding a half pound of thermapaste to the fittings and siliconing the ice box.

Viking is great. Ditto with sub zero. I just don't usually recommend those a they can cost the price of a car damn near. Unless people are asking for premium stuff.
Someone posted Fisher Paykel earlier. I like them but they are a Haier brand now too.

. You’ll be lucky to get two years from the ice maker. By year three the motor will sound like an unmuffled weed eater. By year four, you’ll come in one day to find the temp inside the fridge is
All of these were the same issue. Moisture getting into the fridge. Sticking to the icemaker and freezing and then the upper interior of the fridge behind the evaporator cover. The fan starts to hit the ice as it builds and makes noise. Then eventually the fan locks up and the vents are blocked and the fridge goes to the 50s.
They are shite. Better than LG though.

I hate GE but I pay for SmartHQ locally warranty work is backed up because only the larger shops want it. Warranty work sucks if you have a full schedule of cash jobs.

Yeah I remember back in 2014 at a convention and LG was unveiling the new 3 phase linear compressor and everyone questioned it. Pretty much every other fridge ever made going back 100 years has used a reciprocating compressor. A linear compressor on that scale just seemed doomed to fail.
The internal seals fail. The only repair I would trust is to replace with an Ebraco or Samsung compressor (a lot of brands use Samsung compressors)
