While I don't think this is about the Sig's; this line sums them up in a fight....
quote:

Chorus:
Kick them right in the face

Several years ago (early 90's) our pledges got into a fight with theirs and they seemed to circle around and if someone hit the floor the kicked them in the face. We had one guy whose eye will never be the same again. This led to a whole year of stupid fights.

That would be a terrible move

No, you're not. The money is for house bills, food, and to pay bands, bartenders and security for parties.

Circle of Friends is about life as a KS pledge and they weren't exactly singing about how great it was either. Circle of Friends was written while they were still at LSU and living the college life. Depserately wanting is not about fraternity life and frankly why would KG be writing a song about fraternity life when he was 10+ years removed from it? Desperately wanting is about loving a girl that changed for the worst and either died or was never the same again. He is desperately wanting what they HAD, and not what she is now (dead or a fricked up druggie)

It's not like that at all.

It's become a way of life instead of a socializing method for people.

Quite the opposite

quote:

asically, your paying money for friends and for people who will accept you only if you become just like them.

Wrong again.

Basically these are all stereotypes of new pledges and first year actives, who get it into to a little too hard. All the older guys do there own thing and are close friends with a lot of guys in other fraternities. Most older guys only hang out with a handful of their fraternity brothers when they are in there latter years. The stereotype for fraternity guys is overblown, just as is the stereotype for non fraternity guys.

all BS aside, we used to sit in the Chop house with the windows open and listen to your pledges wail and cry out in the night

it was quite entertaining

and getting back to KGriff - when Joel killed himself, Kgriff took off for New Mexico and got in touch with his inner artist or some shite. After he came back from New Mexico (when I met him for the first time) he was pretty much a pretentious arse and I seriously doubt he thought about his college days. So I am going to guess that in 1996 when they were writing friction, baby KE was probably the last thing on KG's mind since he was 30 and a serious artist (read: douche).

also while I am thinking about it

KE was notorious in the late 80s and early 90s as a "we're gonna get drunk and fight every MFer in this bar" kind of frat. The actives used to tell two or three of their pledges to "go into Murphy's and find _______ (insert active of KA or some other fraternity), bump into him, call him a pussy and kick his arse." Then when the fight started and their 3 pledges were getting destroyed by 10 KAs or whatever they would come flying in and proceed to beat anyone around the pile they could get their hands on.

It was always quite a show.

What is the deal with KE and KA? Seems like they have always hated each other. FRAT WAR!

Oh yeah, Better than Ezra is awful.

They may be awful but they are giving back and doing it looking like the total rockstars they are.

btw...this video was sent to me by a Kappa Sig. He said he cries every time he hears Desperately Wanting.
