Live in New Orleans. Both kids almost out of college. Looking to do some boating, fishing, just some hanging out in the golden years.

Grand Isle, fishing is much better. GI beach is making a comeback, plus you can ride a golf cart/side by side on the beach.

Enjoy the hell out of those golden years, baw. Hopefully you'll have some grandkids going for boat rides soon.

If fishing is your goal, GI is much better. The hurricane damage risk is stupid high there though: I’d you can even get insurance, it’s got to be stupid expensive.

MS coast is way less trashy and has better restaurants and bars, other entertainment.

Fishing is better in Grand Isle and nearby Lower Lafourche.

However, every single other thing is better about the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and so that is what I would choose. You actually have a wide range of good restaurants, casinos, bars, grocery stores, way more pretty women around, much nicer beaches, museums, a nice aquarium, and thousands of other things Grand Isle does not have.

If you want the future grandchildren to visit go with Miss Gulf Coast. A lot more tourist options/restaurants/etc that children and grandchildren may want to do beyond just fishing.

If you don't know the answer to that question, go to the Gulf Coast.

As mentioned, only thing better is the fishing in Grand Isle, and at the rate they pulling platforms out of the gulf the nearby offshore is dwindling as well.

Coast has better restaurants, casinos, golf course, better roads and I'd venture to say aside from crabs and maybe oysters, you can get better seafood on the coast.

Buccaneer looks cool and close to some good food spots. Heck, drive up to the Slipper and eat as much crab as you can.

Grand Isle won’t even exist in 20 years so I’d go with the Mississippi coast.

Mississippi gulf coast. If you have the funds buy/build there. Plenty to do for entire family. < this coming from someone with a fishing camp. Red neck riviera.
