That's what I tell my wife. Apparently I fish out of a dingy on a pond.

Yeah, but it takes forever to get to England in a rowboat.

You certainly will not see that side from him.

Beta has pushed more water up down here on Amite River than any other storm in 2 years. Including Barry and Laura.

Not sure why or when it will end because water is still rising.

Any theories? I’ve heard a bunch. May be a combination of many, but FML.

Duration and direction of this is your problem. You got a high to the NE, tropical cyclone to the SW and it's been working to rock a solid east wind for days.

We've had a lot of testaments to the vulnerability of our coastal regions in SELA to storms so far this year, luckily without seeing the real test. Some of those Sally runs of the HWRF scared me having a hurricane run E to W over NOLA and bringing all the surge right at the lakes and up the river.

It's a matter of time before we get one like that and I sure hope we've gotten some more mitigation done before that day.

Duchess is taking her sweet arse time. Maybe by the morning we'll have a baby out the oven.

Just a humble engineer, but I'm guessing that the (days) of easterly winds pushing water into the Amite would be the cause.

Windy.com says so

ETA: Duke said it better than me. Best wishes to your family Duke.

Haven't had a chance to say it but good luck with the baby on the way. Good thing tropics are settling down for you.

Thanks, Duke.

1st baby? They take their time. 36 hours for my first.

And this is the easy part.

Prayers for a healthy baby and some rest for you and the wife.

Yeah, never call safety with a giant front washing out over that expanse of the basin.

Yeah. Had to induce early, so she's been at that a good 30 hours now. Doc seems to think once we get rolling though, it'll happen fast.

Checking on the weather to keep the mind busy before the difficult part really starts.

There goes the sticky. I always feel like towards the end of hurricane season, each time a thread is unstickied, it’s like the last day of school where you won’t see yourself friends until summer is over.
