12z Euro EPS rainfall map doesn't have the typical sharp gradient, as this setup will favor some decent rains far inland away from the system on the western side. However, there will be a very sharp gradient for the biggest totals and some of those are nervously close to the Houston area.

Is that some 60 mph drops showing up in the LLC?
Posted on 9/18/20 at 6:21 pm to Tllsu
No, that was in the convective burst to the NE of the center. There was a little pressure drop in that area but the center is really farther south. It's going to be a pretty stretched out center from SW to NE with this shear.

center looks a little south of that main blowup of storms.

Yeah I’ve got treatments at MD Anderson Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. Should be ok as of current forecast.

finding 55-60 kts (63-69 mph) already at flight level?

Looks like 1000 mb and several 48 knot SFMR. Could be 55 mph at next advisory.
Location is 25.2 92.3
That is a bit NE of 4 pm advisory
Forecast for 1 am was 25.1 92.9. It’s already A good bit ENE of there.

Which makes for an interesting next step as it gets pushed west under the ridge. Does it still get to the coast or inland?

when we're playing a game of "will it make landfall in Texas before turning towards Louisiana"
it being further away from Texas as a start point isn't a great thing

Beta or no Beta...I ain’t mad about these temps.
Posted on 9/18/20 at 9:08 pm to rt3
Lowest pressure is at 25.6 North 92.1 West on second pass.
raw data says 996 mb but it is usually adjusted. I guess we will see with the next VDM.
