What you "should be paying" and "what others are paying" is a load of crap. Do your internet research and find every vehicle acceptable to you within a 500 mile radius (or more), then start dealing. You'll find a better price than what "others" are paying because, quite frankly, the majority of "others" are morons. On my Jag I beat every other dealer's price by $5,000. Got $18,000 off sticker. There's a dealer out there willing to make a super deal for whatever reason. Find that dealer.

Cars.com -> search radius at least 500 miles -> enter in very specific details of the truck you're looking for -> sort by price: least expensive.

You can use Autotrader in a similar way, and they do seem to have more inventory, but their listings are on 3 tiers based on how much the dealer paid for the advertisement, so it makes searching more difficult unless you spend a lot of time on it.

I bet they'll deal with ugliest one in the lot. Figure what the most undesirable version and go for it, if you simply just want s good deal.

I paid over sticker for mine, but I got what I wanted...which was a very rare example.

So truck was 26900,they went to 26,000, giving me 3200 on trade(POS Car), I was only expecting 1K, I will put down 2K, sitting on 23,300 right now with their stupid fees. Its a 2013 Tacoma Prerunner Dbl Cab V6, 34K miles, excellent shape, 1 owner, clean car fax. What should I try to get off of the price, another 1K maybe??

Tell them to go frick themselves, and walk out the door.

They will call you back with $5k off.

While it might not be $5000 off, walk out it the correct move. How long has that particular truck been on their lot? What fees? Only pay tax, title and license.

Don't be in a rush and don't catch the wants. You've got weeks or more probably if you want to find the car for you.
