Old fat wrinkled arse and titties hanging out.

I freaking love Key West. Had a great bachelor party there and a great couples trip.

Fish, snorkle, eat, drink, and fck. Repeat.

my post from an old thread:

Just came back from a week long trip there with the gf.

How much are you looking to pay for a room? There are much cheaper places farther up the keys in places like Islamorada and Tavernier. I'm just going to assume it's going to be too cold for you to get in the water. If you have a wetsuit or you're just crazy I can give you some tips on lobstering for a first timer. If you decide to rent a boat on a windy day you will get soaking wet unless you pay out the arse for a deep-v hulled boat.

The Truman Hotel was very nice and I think with tax costed us $150 for our last night there. We paid about $130 on the first night to stay at a hotel that caters to the gay community but it was very nice and frankly if you're not secure enough with your sexuality to be around gay people you are going to have a difficult time in Key West. There are also a LOT of foreigners for some reason. There's a place called the Lime Tree Bay Resort on Islamorada that we booked for two nights at $109/night (before tax) that has an really, really nice outdoor area with palm trees and hammocks and otherwise was clean and nice. There is a very nice restaurant near there called the Morada Bay Cafe where we had our one "good & expensive" night out. The coconut encrusted grouper there was frankly the best seafood I've ever had outside of boiled crawfish which I'm a bit of a homer for. The lobster tail was a lobster tail and the crab cake was also very good. The conch salad was underwhelming, however. I think the whole dinner was $120 but I don't think we had any adult beverages as we were trying to keep the cost (relatively) reasonable.

The Eaton Street Seafood Company in Key West had an awesome lobster roll ($15) and an awesome crab cake sandwich (~$10 maybe). A little pricey for sandwiches but the lobster roll was absolutely piled with lobster meat and the crab cake was as good or better than any I've had in LA. There is a bakery on Duval called Croissants du France or something and we got some almond croissants there on two occasions that were awesome. I don't know if almond croissants are a thing down there or not but we seemed to run into them a lot and they were all awesome. Those in particular though.

Duval Street is a lot like Bourbon. Frankly the whole island of Key West reminded me a lot of a small New Orleans without the threat of crime, but also missing a some of the culture like creole cooking and jazz music. Still the neighborhoods and atmosphere were very similar to me. We stopped at another small bar called Shots and Giggles that was a nice place to get a drink despite the terrible name. We bar hopped to several more places up & down Duval but I can't remember their names. Maybe Carolines was one I think, which was a pretty standard outside bar where we got some frozen drinks.

Somewhere along the way we stopped at a cuban place called Coco's Cafe or something of that nature, which was just kind of blah. There was a hamburger joint near Islamorada called M.E.A.T. that had a really outstanding "lamb-burger" but the regular hamburger was pretty blah. We saved money on other nights by buying beer and pizza and eating in the hotel rooms or hanging out outside. We stayed at the Tavernier Hotel which was only $80/night but was incredibly small and maybe a little sketch. The interiors were kind of dated too. We stayed at the Creekside Inn which was I think like $90 for the night and was big and clean if poorly decorated. Fishing charters (which i did not do while i was there) are pretty expensive, several hundred dollars for even a half day. Fishing from shore is possible but if you're not familiar with the area pretty hard. I fished once or twice and then decided I'd rather snorkel and lobster since i can (and do) fish in LA whenever i want.

Sorry if this is kind of slapdash i don't have time to proofread.

Yeah, Key West is a great couples trip. I love the scenery and laid back attitude there.

It isn't a party place for singles except for during fantasy fest and the in the biz week.

Lot of fun with a date, or significant other though.

This times 10. The hogfish sandwich there is one of the best things to eat down there. I lived down there for a while after college.

Cowboy Bills. Go..... If your significant other doesn't care go to Cowboy Bills on Wednesday night and bid to be a judge on for the Wild Bull riding contest. You will thank me later. If you don't want to be a judge than just go. It's great.

The Conch Shack on Duval is great little plce (right by Ripley's Believe It or Not). If you like martinis go check out the White Tarpon down on the end of Front St. Caroline St and all the little shops between it and the harbor are really cool. Cuban Coffee, Turtle Kraals, etc.
A trip to the Dry Tortugas is badass also.
Renting scooters or bikes and bar hopping is fun as hell also. Have a good time.
