The Woodlands is great for raising a young family - good schools, plenty to do. The commute is garbage, but I suspect Katy's no better there.

Katy to the Galleria is much better than The Woodlands

Just for the record, I live in this area and really like it but that drive to Galleria area would be a major beast.

Can't go wrong with Katy or Sugar Land. About the same distance/traffic from Galleria. Both have great schools and property tax is comparable. Katy probably has more inventory as far as homes for sale therefore you can get a better deal. Both have some really nice developments but I'd say Katy has a little more to offer as far as entertainment. Top Golf, malls, parks, close to City Centre, La Centerra etc.

The Woodlands is by far the best suburban community of Houston, if not Texas. The commute to the galleria would be a pain in the arse though. But, Hell, my father is almost 65 and still commutes to Katy from The Woodlands a few times a week without much complaint.

Katy and Sugar Land are great alternatives, though. They essentially have everything The Woodlands has to offer.

Over Sugar Land? Sugar Land has a minor league ball club, just opened the Smart Financial center hosting major acts, a real town center, and a real park system.

Exactly how did Mo City annex Sienna?

I grew up on the hard streets of Cartwright road and 2234.

Katy, near a park and ride or star van. Driving yourself will drive you crazy!

Work in Houston then live in Houston. The city is big enough and has enough to offer where you might as well live where you work. I live in The Woodlands and work in The Woodlands. Used to work in town and commute: frick that. Quit my job and found one neat The house. If I have to take a job in town, we would strongly consider selling the house and moving back into town. For Galleria: Garden Oaks, Oak Forest, Shepherd Park Plaza. Or Memorial area.

Yikes! At least now a days. We have a ton of friends who grew up in Quail Valley. It ashame what old mo city has turned into. It's a good thing, living in sienna, you really have no reason to ever go down 1092 unless you just want to for whatever reason. I forget it's there most of the time.

Yea I went to Seinfeld on opening night of the Smart Financial Center. It's very nice. So is the Skeeters ballpark. Still think there is more to do in Katy on a regular basis. SL is only 20 minutes away if you want to go to a Skeeters game or a concert.

A lot of people I know still around moved to Sienna.

The only reason to go down 1092 is to get a tornado burger close to hwy 90.

Sienna is great

Can have affairs with half a dozen married women, and the place is so big that they won't know each other and you don't have to leave the area
