I visited a few years back and the driver from the airport to our hotel was an older gentleman proudly giving a bit of a de facto tour on the drive in. As we got closer to downtown he said "and to your right is (insert some older historic building)." "And to your left is Hong Kong" (describing all of the new glass skyscrapers)
