Jackson Hole FTW. Second place, Taos. There's plenty to do for people who never care to set foot outdoors. Jackson Hole is super-expensive, though.

Breckinridge and Park City are both very solid

Seriously Clark, you're not going to get a consensus answer here. Everyone has a personal taste in likes and dislikes, which is cool. All the big ski areas will have shopping, bars, restaurants, and spas for non-skiers. The Colorado resorts will have weed shops nearby, the Salt Lake City area resorts are really close to the city, and there is always Tahoe for gambling with a gondola station at the Marriott vacation club condos in the middle of the strip.
Have fun.

Park City or Breckenridge
They are real towns with nice Main Streets lots of non resort owned stores and restaurants
Vail is a fake Disneyized resort on the interstate. Great skiing though.
Telluride gives you the best of both worlds, I think. You have the old mining town feel of Breck without the cheesey commercialism of Vail along with some great terrain. Not as huge as Vail though and nothing compares to the Vail back bowls.

Not gonna beat Aspen for non skiing stuff to do. I love Steamboat but its no Aspen if money is no object. CB, Telluride and Breck are fun but again aren't Aspen.

Telluride's hard to get to..when you're there you're there.
Agree about Colorado, if you don't do snow, just stay baked.

Really depends on the interests outside skiing, and if they are looking for nightlife.

Similar to Vail, not a real town, just a sterile ski resort on i70. And not as nice as Vail.
