M-F 8-4. Wouldn't change it for anything.

On a full blown 21 my dad loved graveyard shift. Said the bosses were never around and he could work in peace.
On a different note, I worked at a place once where layoffs were the reverse of where my dad worked. When the company had to lay off bargaining unit employees, they started with the most senior qualified and down toward the younger. At regular intervals, the layed off senior employees had to check in and express their intentions as to if they were ready to return to work. If so, they came back to work and the process started again.
I always thought it was a better way of managing layoffs.

Worked (4) 10 hour shifts when I started my career as a Patrol Officer.
Work Tuesday-Friday, off Saturday-Monday.
Sounds great right? That rotation was only (4) weeks.
Next rotation you work Friday-Monday. Miss out on weekend get togethers have to put out fires all weekend while everyone gets blitzed and causes problems. Traffic isn't as bad on that rotation, but the alcohol related disturbances and other crimes make it just as frustating.
Your hours stayed the same on both rotations. I worked nights most of it from 9pm-7am. Tons of crimes in progress made the work fun, but your days off never get right.
Weekends off usually meant waking up Saturday afternoon, tired and groggy from a full week of work. Already missed out on plans most people made for the day.
Don't miss the schedule. Some enjoy it for years.

M-F 8-4:30 suits me better now. Although I do miss having that random Tuesday off during the week to just do whatever. Also sucks having to take time off work for doctor's appointments or anything else that only has traditional business hours.
agreed...
but I'm semi-retired, and do real estate to fill in my time, so I can pick and choose, still, an off day when I feel like it.... it's nice, actually

I had a 8 days on 6 days off.. Started on Thursday 7.5 and 7.5 Friday..Saturday and Sunday were 12 hrs. Monday and Tuesday were 12 hrs. and Wednesday and Thursday were 7.5.. Then I was off for 6 days. Rarely did I have to go in on my days off. I really liked it because I was mostly on my own and I re-arranged my hours so I could watch the Saints on Sunday..

Pardon the old guy here but is that a good thing or a bad thing?
That’s not your fault for not knowing. No one I know uses that term

To each his own. I would kill myself if I had to work that for 25-30 years.

4-10s is great during the holiday months when everyone is lazy and the office empties at noon on Thursday.
