Why not just look up prices at various dealers? You might even find a cheaper one a state over.

This is what a normal adult would do.

I have a 23 with the 6.2 v8

had to replace transmission valve body $1600

about 20-30k miles in the pulley broke off of the water pump shaft and destroyed the water pump. luckily onstar took care of getting me towed and I wasnt far from a dealership.

and now I am just waiting for the 6.2 to blow up. at least there is a recall on that.

besides all of that I am just not a big fan of the truck. It isnt laid out well or thought out well for space and storage.

It's actually the torque convertors. Which ends up ultimately blowing up the transmission

just wait.

in addition to an absolute garbage transmission, GM has also had massive engine problems. To the point where they stopped selling the 6.2L.

You need to include Dallas and Houston in your search. I’ve bought all of our trucks and cars in Dallas and on the last F150, I saved right at $6K. One way flight into DFW and drove it back.

Do your research. They are having an absolutely major problem with transmissions.

Which year and model?
I've got a 2020 year model 1500 Texas Edition LT with 155K miles on it. No major problems at all. I just changed the battery last week (5+ years on a battery is awesome). Other than regular maintenance (oil and filters), flushing transmission, and complete tune up (spark plugs, spark plug wires, and injectors cleaned), it has been great.

Royal GMC: didn’t move on price in anyway for me in Q1 of 2025. Service dept is great but I wouldn’t buy from them.

Ross Downing Hammond: Price was always negotiable, I called all dealers within 45 miles and they were open to working with me the most. They thrive from underpricing all major city competitors.

Gerry Lane GMC: tried to price me full on a last year loner. When I called them out, crickets.

Ross Downing for purchase, Royal GMC for service. But choose the best for service near you if not in the BR area.

I got the same discount at Ross Downing.

So your research on whatever engine you are getting. Just changed out the transmission on my wife’s Yukon with the 5.3. Mechanic said they keep those stocked up because those transmissions have been going out regularly.

Do they still have the 10R80 in them? Or something new? My 10r80 was replaced at 200k miles. Cost $9300.

Also looking at Ram. What's the word on 3.0 turbo vs new Hemi 5.7 ? I hear both have issues, but so does the GM 5.3 and 6.2.

Considering all of the issues with gm trucks I would never purchase one right now. This coming from a guy who’s whole family has been gm my whole life.

Never had an issue with my 2007 chevy classic. 250k miles. Same engine and transmission, but i have flushed transmission 3 times since Ive owned it. I wont buy a GM again. To many issues with their engines and transmissions throughout the years on later models.

I will be looking at used Tundras and Titans when Im ready to buy again.
