We have a winner. The fact that reading and basic math can be learned in as few as 30-50 hours and yet students get to high school unable to read and do basic math is what is wrong. And it’s not like they aren’t trying to teach reading and math. If you don’t care, you can not learn basically anything.

For elementary if your child is gifted then shenandoah and park forest both have self contained classes. If they are dumb these two are probably still your best two.

There is a reason that those that can afford to send their kids to private school ---- Send their kids to private school.
EBR is shite. No offense to any who are attending. When I was young, they had dedicated Gifted and Talented schools. It was half GT, half magnet.
That hurt people's feelings so now they just take the GT kids out of regular learning for a few hours a week. Waste of time.
All three of my kids passed the "T&G" test(why the frick did they have to change the name??) , yet they are all enrolled in private school.
If you can't afford or don't believe private school is worth it --- head to prairieville. Much better schools and free.

Tara is in a nice neighborhood but the school sucks. They have something like a 48% graduation rate and a F rating now.
I drive through Tara everyday on my way to work, and the high school is not "representative of the neighborhood." All of the subdivision kids I see are wearing OLOM uniforms.

As long as the parents of these Baton Rouge public school students don't care to help their own kids all EBR schools will have failing graduation %. Parents need to stress the need for school and worry about keeping their kids out of trouble. Their is only so much the teacher or school system can do.

Bases on this criteria, Woodlawn, and it's a "C" school.
EBRPSS is a dual system - quality magnet/gifted, shite everything else (and calling it shite is generous).
I hope and pray John Parker is getting a white hot poker shoved up his arse while having to blow lepers every hour he is in Hell for eternity.

Lived on Tara Blvd. that was before they started the Bluebonnet Campus. Swaggart has his radio studio on Greenwell Springs Road way in the back of those Long warehouses that Heck owns where ABC Supply is. And he had a fortune back then because he was heard globally on the radio before he ever went on TV.

It’s sad that this is a big issue. A comininatuon of lack of government support and lack of support from the people are why.
People don’t even want to try to send their kids there they just go straight to the private school route. There’s plenty of decent people who could send their kids there and get involved in the schools but they don’t.

Youd need to move to AP, LP, central or Zachary.
Unless st George happens most public schools in ebr are doomed.

It was just a savage, pointless, unnecessary and destructive move against the EBR school system.
A desperate move to cover for his own personal bigotry in his lifetime. I can think of very few people I hate more than that filthy phuck.

There isn't one and even the magnet schools are average at best. Baton Rouge High and Lee academics aren't as good as they pretend they are.

Why not just get them into the magnet HS? Personally, I’m glad to be saving thousands of $ for college fund.

Because EBR magnet schools are a joke. The same requirements for BRHS and Lee magnet are the same requirements for the magnet programs at Scotlandville, McKinley and every other magnet school in EBR
