I’m sorry it was actually $33,800. Mistyped.

They’re out there, just not with Italian leather, Bose Sound and other premium options. It all just depends on what options OP’s looking for in each make/model

People who still believe this haven’t paid any attention to Grand Cherokee’s in the last 20 years.

I know for a fact that model years 2011 through 2015 (at least) had very common transmission problems - like needing to replace the entire transmission before 75k miles, $5000k+ type problems. Maybe they have gotten better since then.

It also depends on what we are considering is a mid-size SUV, and if we're talking new or used. New, there definitely won't be many out there under $30k, but plenty of used ones, some recent models. There were a ton of Acura RDX's in the $25-$30k range when we were looking, but a lot of people will consider that a compact SUV. It's a decent size, though the backseat leg room is pretty tight. Lot of Inifiniti QX60's right at $30k. Lot of Explorers for just a little over $30k.

How is this an SUV? I mean think about it. You get maybe four seats, maybe five. You get a trunk, just like a Camry, but it's not a wagon back, it's a fast back, which means there is hardly any reason for the hatch/long roof.

I know quite a few people that "upgraded" to SUV's because "we need an SUV"/"we need 4wd" and found their SUV had literally less space than their car.

Depends on your length of ownership but Hyundai is a great value for a vehicle you intend to own 5 years or less

We bought a new Hyndai Santa Fe Sport for the wife. $20K midlevel trim and an easy 3yr note.

It's been a great vehicle for her and the tech is just right.

He probably could get a very well equipped Forester or CR-V for about $30,000.

Both are very good cars.

Here's the deal! I'm thinking of buying a mid-size SUV sometime next year. V6 is fine. 4 ppl comfortably. Decent gas milage. Under 30k. I'd love under 25k. I'm thinking I might have a 10k
deposit, so a sub 15k loan/note seems swee

Maybe a fleet vehicle is in your future...

Anyway, here's an option.

You need to learn the life lesson of letting your wife buy what she wants. I only veto options / give my wife options when it’s car buying time.

That way if it’s messed up or she complains in any way about it it’s on her. GL
