Decided against a summer trip and am planning on going to Europe for 2 weeks in december/january.

We will either be flying into London or paris. Worried London will be kinda miserable that time of year.

Madrid, paris, rome, Barcelona? Which city do you think would be the best?

Rome was meh for me. Although haven't been to the other three--I'd guess new years in madrid/barecelona would be awesome due to the women

I would got to the southern european countries and avoid London or Paris. I would say Rome, but just because I have not been to Madrid or Barcelona.

Lived in Munich for 4 years and was great, but Berlin might be fun for New Years.

Won't it be like 6 degrees in Munich on NYE? Go somewhere with a milder climate

FIFY

I hear Prague is pretty awesome that time of year. It really is a great city. One of the least expensive options as well.

Amsterdam. On one trip to Europe, I landed in Amsterdam early in the morning of January 1st. It looked like a war zone. Must have been one hell of a party.

The Dutch are insane about fireworks...you hear blasts going off consistently throughout the day on December 31 and it keeps building until New Year's when BOOM, everyone in the entire country is setting off fireworks to create the most amazing fireworks show you could ever witness.

Madrid on New Year´s Eve is the best from your list. It will be cold, however.

I took the wife to Paris for NYE in 2012. We had a blast for the most part and ended up getting shitty all night. We did have a great time, but the one downfall was there were no firework display to ring in the new years. It wasn't miserably cold, but you will need a jacket/gloves/scarf (if that's your thing. Most European men wear them)

Also, Paris isn't cheap and I highly recommend trying to speak a little french while over there. I've seen them eat people up and spit them out for not attempting to speak their language.

Most countries in Europe (I've been to 8) will work with you if they know you are American and can't speak the native language. Paris/France is not one of them. They view us speaking English to them like many Americans view Mexicans speaking Spanish to us in the states. It's one of those,"You're in our country, you need to at the very least respect us enough to attempt to speak our language" and they will let it be known.

As mentioned above, Spain would be my first choice. Barcelona may be the most amazing city in the western hemisphere. The entire coast is littered with amazing destinations.

Edit: I saw where Prague was mentioned above. Fun city, but it's grungy, dirty, and a lot more poor then some of the other options mentioned. It very much so has the Eastern block feel to it. The exchange rate is great though and it's home to the biggest club in central Europe. The karlovy lazne. I think it was something like 6 floors with different music on every floor. The place was full of molly, cheap drinks and good music. Lots of russians. The bar crawl was amazing. (Not to be confused with the pub crawl, which is also available. We did both and The bar crawl blew it out of the water) It's a fun city, but I'm not sure it's a NYE destination. Although the castles and cathedrals were breath taking.

Paris was pretty solid when I did it, though it was a long time ago. I had friends in Madrid at the time. They said it was ridiculous. It will be a little cool there, too, though.

It's just "Ibiza." It randomly showed up on mine, I'm not sure how all that works.

Today's was weak, but the last few days it was hot sluts on yachts and shite. It looks like paradise.
