Been a while since we ranked them. I'm pretty sure OLOL or BR Gen MidCity is lowest ranked. Where does BR General on Bluebonnet rank in your opinion? Above or below Oshsner on O'Neal?

Having worked for OLOL and BR General in the past, I would say BR General Bluebonnet. Second is pretty close between BRG MidCity and Ochsner (at least a couple years ago unless something has happened to lower the experience at MidCity. I wouldn’t choose OLOL.

Note- if you have been shot or experienced significant trauma, then OLOL may be the choice. For everyday emergencies, I would go BRG every day.

If close to Walker area, I’d go to the small OLOL ER. The uninsured frequent flyers haven’t seemed to discover it and if hospital admittance is needed they transport to the hospital. Never Ochsner O’Neal. That’s where you go if one wants to increase their risk of demise.

Only go to Oschner O’Neal if you want to go in and never leave there again. Their ER is trash.

Yeah in general I think it depends on the clinical situation.

Trauma- OLOL
Stroke- to me this one is a toss up
Peds- OLOL Children’s
Ascension Parish- generally St Elizabeth but if heart attack or stroke go to BR

It depends on your emergency.

Guns shot/ major trauma-olol

Heart attack/stroke- BRG Bluebonnet

Possible Broken bone- BRG mid city because you can get in and out fast

Lost close family member there.

Had 3 different diagnoses by multiple Drs, one particularly short on commitment to own and explain diagnoses…Died in sleep overnight there.

Worst, invited the family to, what we thought was visit of the relative the next day to then be let in ICU room of relative who had already passed. No warning. Devastating.

ER was over-run with people in hallways in beds, many on medical team left us confused on ownership of care and unclear diagnoses. What was “underwhelming” medical situation - one they are confident to handle - per Dr in charge after death, resulted in death.

If only this were a restaurant rating.

It's been over 25 years since I lived in BR. I remember OLOL being the best. What happened to it?

It's also serving as the area charity hospital since EKL shut down. The facilities and staff are fine. It's just overwhelmed at times with actual criminal and homeless patients.

Eta you will legit see homeless dudes still in hospital gowns and the grippy socks around the RaceTracs at both Perkins and on Essen by I-10.

The closest one if you’re in an actual emergency.

Go to your primary care if your shopping around for one, you probably don’t need to actually be there

The OT if it's a real emergency. Non-life threatening see your primary care next available.
