Always been a fan of the Remington electric razors. Only have to buy one every 5 years it seems like.

First you need to decide if you want a rotary (three circular blades - ex. Norelco) or a foil (two or three straight foils - Braun).

I've had both and much prefer the foil. I think it's more efficient overall. If you are going with a foil, Braun and Panasonic are your best bets. Personally, I like the Panasonic arc3 (or 4). The only downside is the shaving head is kind of bulky, so it might be tough to get to spots like under your nose (though it's never been much of a problem for me).

Feel free to get all of the bells and whistles such as a cleaning station, etc. IMO, they are completely unnecessary as most shavers can simply be rinsed under water. But, if you want to spend an extra $100 for the station, that's your call.

I tried the rotary some time ago, and it caused ingrown hairs on my neck. Does the foil cause the same issue?

I have one of the expensive self cleaning Braun’s. Then I bought a $17 safety razor with $0.30 blades. And I haven’t picked the electric razor up since. Electric razor was harsh on my face and took longer than the safety razor does.

I have a Panasonic Arc3 and it’s much better than any Norelco I’ve ever used.

I use Persona blades. $10 for 100 pack - lasts almost 2 years

I’ve alwsys used the Norelco/Phillips, but hate cleaning and replacing the blades. How often do you have to replace the blades on the foil razors?

I usually shave with a blade, but I keep an electric razor handy for quick touch ups, particularly for my head. I have a Panasonic Arc5 and it does a fantastic job.
