Might want to go talk with some more recruiters from all the branches. Whether or not they'll waive an arrest just depends on quotas (for something as minor as a marijuana arrest).

Look around for government contractors. Once you get in most will pay for your school. Then you can move up to actually being on base.

Look on job boards like Rigzone. Look both offshore and in West and South TX and if you really want an adventure, look in ND.

You could finance trade school. At 22 I was in your same position. I wasted a couple of years at LSU then decided to work a couple years before I went back. That didn't happen so I signed up at ITI in ISDS and worked and went to school at the same time. Got out, got a job and that was it. Paid off my loan and here I am 12 years later. I have surpassed many of my friends with bachelor degrees and even some with masters. All it takes is hard work and dedication

Should have mentioned this isn't an issue right now. I cleaned up 3 months ago knowing that any decent job would test me.

Solution: get a marketable skill. The good news is you aren't much worse off than millions of college grads who also don't have marketable skills. I would suggest getting some type of technical certification. A one or two year program at a technical school would probably be helpful but honestly you could do the work at home as long as you are able to pass the certification exams.
My wife is a good example. She got her stenography certification at Brown School of Court Reporting in Atlanta and has had a very successful career as a Superior Court court reporter for over 30 years. She gets a salary from our county and per diem for traveling to surrounding counties. She's also self-employed (files schedule C) because she gets about as much as her salary for transcripts purchased directly from her by lawyers, etc.

Get a job as a helper or laborer at a construction company (Turner type place that do plant construction, not residential). Find a welder who will let you practice during his break time, or join a company that pays for trade school. Or just sell the truck, get an associates from Sowela in Lake Chuck, and profit.

Many of the controllers I work with do not have degrees. It's not for everybody but the base is 125k and you would be hard pressed to make under 130k. Some make 175ish and a few clear 200k.
ETA: or realtor

you really need someone to tell you what to do? ...
first thing to do is start working 2 jobs, right now ... anything ... doesn't matter ... find something that fits ... work weekends and evenings ... i worked a ft job and a pt job out of college, with a degree ...
get rid of debts, pay off debts, do whatever it takes to get completely out of debt ... get rid of your truck note ... drive around in a beat up 4 cylinder that will run for 5 years ... quit spending money on shite you don't need ... quit partying every night or weekend ... it's not all that difficult ...
borrow some government money and get certified in welding/petro tech/oil tech/whatever ... or start on the bottom rung and get exp on oil/gas ...
don't chase your "passion" ... that's a load of crap ... you're young and don't realize it might take some time to recover from a screw up ...
many of us have been there ...

Would this not be through the same avenues as financing regular schools? The reason I don't finance going back to school now is because I had pell grants and federal student loans before and my gpa dropped below the threshold to keep those things.
Air traffic control: how do I get into that?
To the guy telling me to get a 2nd job, I work 50 hours a week now and my schedule changes from time to time. I am looking for something late night right now though

Not sure. I had financial aid and all that too at LSU. lost it due to bad grades. The technical college hooked me up with Sallie Mae and I got financing through them.

50 hours? ...
10 hours of sleep a night leaves at least 90 hours of work available ... deliver pizzas ... take anything you can get ... instead of chilling out on saturday and sunday, work all day both days ... take your lunch to work instead of buying it ... cook all your meals ... quit drinking ... you just stopped smoking dope 3 months ago, so apparently you didn't realize that was something that needed to stop ...
you want out, do what it takes to get out ...
good luck ...
