Best Buy Salesperson Refused To "Showroom" For Me

I need a new cell phone and the Nokia 6.1 was just released. I checked online to see if Best Buy had any in stock, they did, so I went over there to check it out in person to decide if I wanted to buy it.
Get over there and I don't see one on display anywhere, so I asked the Salesperson, who approached me to see if I needed anything, if they had any in stock. She checked on a tablet she had on her and said they did, then asked if I was purchasing. I told her that I may be purchasing but that I'd actually like to see the phone and hold it to see if I liked it. She made a face and told me they don't have one on display and that she couldn't open one to "showroom" for me. I told her that the phone is new and that I'd like to see it in person to compare with other phones I'm considering. She refused.
Is this a new policy or was she just an idiot? I've never bought a phone sight unseen before. I'm going to have this device for 1+ yrs, so didn't think it was unreasonable to request to see one before purchasing.

Thank you for purchasing Nokia. I dumped my college savings into Nokia back in 2005 when I found out I’d be on a football scholarship. It was $32/share at the time.
It closed today at $5.89.

Are you an idiot? They can’t just take it out of the box. They get phones from the vendor for that purpose but the display model obviously isn’t at the store. You sound like a huge a-hole

Legit time to ask for a manager. Seems like a reasonable request.

It's not a policy. I'd have opened one for you.
They'll probably get a live demo in the next couple days.
Where was this?

They probably didn't have one to put on display and they were told not to take them out to show customers. I wouldn't be mad at her, if you are going to be pissed, be pissed at the manager, but either way, was best buy the only location they had them?

Never buy the "first" anything.
Wait until the bugs are worked out. Let the groupies suffer for your benefit.

I was calm. Just found it weird that I wasn't allowed to even look at one in person.

Okay cupcake. Bunch of entitled assholes

That dumbass should’ve opened one. Who cares. One phone isn’t going to hurt their business. It would probably sell more. If they didn’t have a display, then you make one. Otherwise their website shouldn’t say they have them in stock.
