crutchfield tells me i need a $119 wiring kit to go along with that amp for my vehicle. just wanted to make sure that is the case from you. (says the amp is not recommended for vehicle not sure why)

what's difference between car amplifier and a sound processor for factory radio?

Pardon the messy install but its behind my F150 backseat. The LC7i takes my factory radio speaker outputs and gives the ability to plug amps into it. That way I kept my factory head unit that controls my AC and a lot of other stuff.

Only if you’re thinking about doing this yourself. If you go to a shop, the wiring kits are included in the labor costs (about $750 total for this system). What do you know about wiring in an LOC like the kicker keyloc? What about properly installing the speakers, wiring the amp, setting gains, wiring the sub for a 2 ohm load, checking phase on the speakers, etc? What about tuning the keyloc’s DSP after the install is complete?

Unless you’re prepared to spend many, many hours reading on the site I linked (DIYMobileAudio) I would leave this to a professional. If not, I can almost guarantee you won’t be happy with the final outcome.

As stated previously, I wouldn’t buy anything from Crutchfield…not if you plan to have a shop build this. Use Crutchfield to set the price of the equipment (trust me…it’s lower than their retail cost) and pay cash for everything to avoid taxes. The shop will match price.

Type of music and budget are the biggest factors.

There pretty much is no top end price wise so that is the starting point.

Who ate some of the good shops doing work now?
Northshore or Southshore?

And, would anyone come on location to do an install on RV?

People still put speakers in their car? A lot of newer cars have pretty good "sound" in them. As in, a step up would be "you don't need anything that loud".

Some do, some don't.

German and some domestic stuff is pretty good. Asian stuff is pretty weak, IMO.

Just a general observation...

Resist aging.

Stay young.

Play good music, loudly.

Don't let the old man in.
