And don't get drunk to sleep through the storm. You and your wife need to be at the top of your game to react if you have to.
Where is the highest place in the resort property?
Where are the walls cement with interior rooms?
Do you have a "to go" kit if you have to abandon your rooms?
What are the sturdiest shoes you have?
In a pinch, large trash bags can keep you and your belongings dry, Double and triple bag.

Good luck.

Already all planned out. Whether fortunate or not, this is not my first major hurricane

Honestly, if youre the baw on the northside of the island, you could easily get by with minimal impacts.

Storm should be peaking in intensity this morning. Shear will start to pick up between PR and Jamaica. Weakening storm riding well to your south probably wont be too bad there.

You just REALLY dont want many north wobbles.

Good luck to you baw. I think you will be safe in your resort. Your problems are going to come afterwards.
You and your bride are def going to have stories to tell after this.

Ha, Good Luck Baw riding out a CAT 5 in a third world country with no firearms or basic comms. Might want to make sure that life insurance is up to date....

It shouldn't be a cat 5 by then. A cat 3 still won't be fun though.

In Jamaica it is….

I just saw your original post a little while ago. I can actually say, that I literally felt physical angst for your situation. Hopefully it weakens and or misses you. Good you are planning ahead. Not sure, but could the US Embassy help? Although you know there are thousands of other us citizens on the island.

Ed: just saw you’re on the north side. That’s a huge blessing.
Not sure what resources you have, but I’d also be trying to horde as much water as possible. Toilet paper too.

Dr. Josh Eachus said last night that Baton Rouge has nothing to worry about. Translation for Baton Rougians -- Evacuate now and may God have mercy on your soul.

Cash, batteries, water, flash lights.

Geaux - I'd email pictures of your passport to yourself and another family member, can't be too cautious. Also helpful to tell family what you are wearing while the storm hits. Photo of yourself & partner in your exact outfits emailed to a family member.

Obviously, this is for the extreme end of the spectrum. I'm certain you'll be alright.

Apparently Apple is enabling satellite messaging with IOS 18? If your Apple may be worth looking into downloading the beta? I heard it may be in the current software but I haven’t looked for it. Just something to think about.

I’d probably have to stock up on some of that ganja, too, just in case things get real boring and hot after the storm passes. Might as well be a little stoned.

I love how all it took was an attractive blonde with a cute accent saying some inappropriate shite to completely derail gay month

Back on topic…..

Beryl is a bad bitch and needs to stay away from Louisiana.
